Okay, not spanking, but maybe I'll get some comments on this one too ^^

Well, I tried to do some mecha for a change. GINN type mobile suits from the anime Gundam SEED. In my opinion the second best design right after the Zaku and Gouf variants from the original show. Well, they were designed as a homage to them, so I guess it is to be expected I like them.

This scene should show an orbital drop into a combat zone like it is shown in the first scene of the first Gundam SEED episode. And yes, I know, the mechas look the same. But in fact the ones in the original scene were identical sprites too, so... ^^;

Excerpt from the Gundam wiki:

" The ZGMF-1017 GINN is the standard mobile suit of the Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty (ZAFT) from November CE 69 to September CE 71.
The GINN is designated a Zero Gravity Maneuver Fighter by ZAFT, thus the designation "ZGMF." It is derived from the YMF-01B Proto GINN, the first mobile suit to be built by ZAFT. Many Proto GINNs are redesignated as ZGMT-01 GINN Trainers, and all ZAFT mobile suit pilots are initially trained on this machine.

The GINN is a durable, basic mobile suit which is analogous to the MS-06 Zaku II in the original Mobile Suit Gundam. It has two large, thruster-filled "wings" on its back and carries basic, dependable weapons - a 76mm machine gun and a 10-meter-long sword form its primary armament.
The GINN can also be equipped with a three-round missile launcher on each leg and "D-Class" assault weapons consisting of heavy arm-mounted missile launchers, a recoiless cannon and anti-ship beam guns. The versatile GINN has several variants, some of which (high-maneuver, desert, marine, tactical air reconnaissance and long-range space recon variants) are seen in the TV footage. The GINN is even used by nonaligned factions, especially mercenaries and pirates. The GINN was manufactured in such high quantities from 69-71 that units will be in common use for many years to come. The GINN's powerful thrusters can only keep it airborne for a short time under gravity, so it uses the Guul subflight lifter to fly in an atmosphere."

I personally think the majority of the Gundams are the ones that look most comical. Too many colours really.
But that is probably a matter of taste anyway ^^

Thanks for the comment.

Sorry to say this, but i was a born and breed GM pilot, always fighting along side my brother in the gundams. Naturally, this meant that the 105 slaughter dagger is my favorite hence the "Fox105". So its my basic reflex to kill all Zakus and thier mono eye relatives like the Ginn. Still THIS is a great picture! a lot of effort in recreating the invading air drop scene. I do however like the GuAIZ-R with the railguns and the experimental firearms type GuAIZ ( with more firepower than Justice).

It's scary.
I've never seen an episode of Gundum in my whole life, yet I understand what is being said merely from association with other mecha animes.

I like the Zaku design, but I'm not a fan of the GINN. Well... not really a fan of any of the designs from SEED. Guess I prefer the designs from UC. Regardless, this scene is instantly recognizable, even without having actually seen the episode.. I've seen enough screens and drawings to know. Very well done.
