Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
Okay well let me start off by saying this is probably the latest present, like, ever. I took this request from Leander almost a year ago now (yeesh) and well let's just say my memory isn't the best. Lately my motivation to do work has been much better, and I found the sketch I had started for the present and decided I needed/wanted to finish it. My apologies on the ridiculous wait, Leander.
Ahem, so this is Beatrice and Battler from the anime Umineko no Naku Koro ni. I've just started watching it out of curiosity for the characters. Apparently the "Say it in red" has something to do with the anime/manga itself.
A big thanks to Exodus on this one, I'm not sure if anyone can tell but I'm trying a new approach to coloring. Exo sent me this awesome tutorial video that gave me some interesting things to think about and I went for the approach with this picture as a sort of tester. I like the way it came out, particularly on the skin tone areas. Let me know what you all think.

For those who don't know: Saying something "in red" in the series means saying something, lets say, that has a certificate of "truth". You cant lie in red. So these two play mind games involving truths and lies, thus this is used a lot in the series. So i gave Cc the idea to twist it a bit ;3
I normally never comment on het but this is one of the few ones even I could see. Well done doing an IC one for THAT series, CC (too bad CM_Zero refused to do the OTHER witchy pairing. Kihihi).
Granted, usually, Beatrice is the one stripping Battler and using him as a chair, but this here isn't past her.
I like the coloration, Cc. It feels.. hm... I don't know if 'more subtle' is the right word... more set? It doesn't feel quite as 'bright' but maybe... the lighting feels more 'natural'? Whatever it is, I think its more realistic-looking, and really nice. ^_^
I love the coloration. Peeker is right, it does feel very natural... the shadows are heavier and better blended, perhaps? Probably takes longer to do this way, though. Also, it's nice to see the return of the black lines for outlining.
Glad to see the tutorial helped, but places a still a little... interesting. Overall, it looks great, and I see that you've taken the background into consideration even when it's a simple solid color. Good choice, it unifies the picture all the more. I need to start on some things myself. >>
This is a really awesome picture. The lineart and shading are excellent. I do love this look very much. I also like the daydreaming scenario (despite my refusal to watch umineko ;p )
Btw.: Where can I learn to do coloring and shading like this? ^^
It's beautiful! This series and this pairing - it's an instant favourite. I'm so happy now! I've been looking at it for a while and my smile just isn't going away. Beato is cute, girls dreaming about spanking are cute - and it's all the better because I just know that's what she wanted all along.
I don't suppose you could link to the tutorial? I'd be interested. Beato's legs look especially good - or could it be that's where my attention is being drawn?
Also, sorry that I haven't been commenting a lot lately. I've looked at your pictures and I've liked them all - the previous one with the coloured lines is really sweet.
Goodness, this is a vast improvement in shading, against your previous pics. Gonrats this is really great.
I prefer more pinkish tone for skin shadows as grayish makes it looks like ash or something to me, but it's just a personal preference.
I think the darker coloring is interesting. Love the dreamy expression on her face - we know where her mind is at! Good to see you back hard at work, Cc!
I like the way Beatrice is imagining the scene with herself in control. I can picture the spanking happening quite differently, with Battler doing the job properly, making the saucy wench genuinely wail and beg. The dialogue would be the same, though.
I don't know what's holding her bottom up, but since this is just her fantasy she could simply be floating in the air. The new colouring is works well on both the skin and the hair. It's smooth without being dull, detailed without being fussy.
At the risk of disappointing euniverse, I don't think Beatrice's dress is Victorian. The elaborate cuffs and puffed sleeves say 16th-century to me. In fact it's most likely a later reproduction, because matching panties didn't exist in the pre-elastic era.
Great composition and lines! I like the idea, even tho' I'm not familiar with the story/characters.
The skin tone/lighting is very cool and smooth, but the actual color choice seems a little too desaturated. It might be that the background is pure white, making the skin lighting a little strange.
I'd also recommend fading/colorizing the blush lines a little so that more of the face is shown.
Her dress is great, but it's a little too dark/saturated brown, so we can't see all the great details.
Lerve the panties. I can't decide whether a girl's panties look better hugging her hips, or stretched around her ankles!
