not-spank-art-but-it-s-important

Basically, I need help. Very badly.

As shown in the picture above this is something that has been happening to me since the start of me going into my new year at school. This guy sits behind me and he for some reason gets annoyed if I talk for too long. I tell him to go away and stuff but he does not listen to me.

As you can see what he does, I sit in front of him every English lesson (Or literacy.. I don't know Literacy and English is the same thing in England, I think... Im confused now xD) and threatens me with this compass he has, he has thrown it at me before which it has then been launched into my back and stuck there and today he dug it in my back by twisting it round to slowly push it in.

This is a bit messed up, right?

But noone will help me or listen to me so I have no idea what to do, what to do myself anyway... I have told teachers but they think I am joking and I have told other people but they just: "Oh right." and that's it, I have to take this matter into my own hands but I don't know how to deal with it without it getting over the top.

I'm sorry but I really am looking for someone to help me everywhere, I know its not content for this place but I'm pretty desperate, I don't know how much my body can take of this over the next months until I leave...

I promise I'll have a picture up in a moment ;w;

If anyone can help me what to do before things get serious, it would be very appreciated!

Get a copy of your school rules Highlight the section that will bascily translate to the teacher as a represtive of the school is responsible of providing a safe learning environment, and that stabbing you with a compass is battery

This should make the teacher realize your next step if they ignores the situation will but them in a bad place.

Did you show them the damage he did to you? Cause if they even say that's a joke then your school is messed up. If he does it again just get up, turn around and ask what's his problem. Be more assertive.

Also do what Rogue-kun posted. It's also considered Bullying and these days the education system is starting to crack down on bullying.

Point out that behaviour, and show any marks you have as proof. Remark that you fear for your safety and that his behaviour shows he needs medical and counselling, and it's his responsibility to investigate the issue. Mark as well that failure to do so is a breach of his legal obligations as a teacher, and liableto legal action on your behalf, on two counts. Battery for the pupil and reckless neglect for him, with compensation money on top should you be actually injured. And if that happens, bad press for the centre will be twofold, and does he really want to risk that by not investigating a behaviour of which there's bound to be witnesses. That ought to motivate the teacher into action.

Failing that, go to any place where junkies, the homeless or deprived people go with a photo of him and an address he passes by, and say '50 bucks if you fuck this guy up good'. It's scary what needy people will do for money.

Go with the Bravo method first of both Rogue-kun and Leonid's first paragraph. Only when all legal actions have been taken, then do you allow yourself to elbow him in the face or throat so it can be said you were doing as you had to in order to defend your person and to ensure the school grounds remain safe.
Can probably also offer to file lawsuits against him and the school after doing this too as a way of twisting the knife. Because it should be their job to keep you safe as well. And stabbings count as harrassment.

I Recommend doing the legal law if none of that works Take your phone out and start recording him via face cam if you have it. or even sound bite of it, Because if he's hurting you enough to draw blood or even leave marks.

He's crossed the line and it can be seen as violence to the police.

I'm not entirely sure what grade your in or how old you. But if this is high school, then get the principal on him, bullying has been such a hot issue that he or she will have to do something. College? Get an RA or dean on him. If anything, arrive to class late and just sit away from where he is

Have you considered not talking so much?

Most of the suggestions are good, but I'll add one more: have you tried asking a friend to sit behind you so that this guy can't? Sometimes the only thing you can do with obnoxious guys is to remove temptation from them.

Also, if the first suggestion doesn't work, then you can try waiting for him to do it again and taking the compass from him when he does poke you with it before he can protest. If he tries to take it back either by force or by complaining to a teacher, it gives you evidence to back up your complaint and make a point about reasonable behavior.

Keep in mind that while his behavior is bad, he may be lashing out at you for behavior he sees as equally bad. He may be trying to listen to the lecture and be unable to hear because of your talking in class (generally considered rude behavior). If this is what's happening (and I do hope it isn't) then hopefully the two of you can come to some kind of understanding/agreement. At the very least, this will allow you to get a better idea of what the next step should be (talking to the Dean, legal action, etc.) Legal action can be expensive, so you might want to hold that option as a last resort.

Whatever you choose to do, I hope it ends well for you and with no more back pains.

I really appreciate all the answers, Thank You c: I don't know how much more my back can take of this, OTL. I need to point out I'm in my last year of secondary school which is 15-16 year olds and we have to sit in this seating plan the teacher gives us whether we like it or not, even after we tell the teacher things like: "Oh, I don't get on well with that person," they just say: "Well, we'll try it anyway." and in the end that always ends up badly with the two being sent to the reflection room.

I don't talk when the teacher is talking, but when we are doing work everyone likes having a little chat, I just tend to talk a lot during this. c:

I'll go talk to the teachers seriously about this with the knowledge of the school rules and that they're not doing anything.

..

If that fails, after he's put his compass away, I'll kick the ever-living piss out of him. >XD

While endless chit chatter can annoy me sometimes too, there's a right way and wrong to ask a person to stop. The way this guy acts sounds like my first graders and I'm guessing easily he's a lot older then that.

You should deffinately report him for the compass in the back because that's not okay. Personally, I would also take the damn thing the next time he throws it at you and keep a hold of it with the argument that then he can't hit you with it.

A possible solution is also asking to be moved or have him move. That or the next time he hits you with something, be loud about it. In grade school I had the problem that someone always jabbed me in the back with a pencil so one day I just screamed in pain to made a scene. It wasn't bad, but it forced the school to act on it. I'm not sure how well that would work for you (as sexist as it sounds, I'm a girl and people react differently when girls scream sometimes).

The only other thing I can think of if all else fails is go straight to the principal and lodge a complaint stating that you've asked for help from your teacher who isn't doing anything about it and that.

Occasionally you have to pull out the really big guns to deal with idiots like that.

Ehm, pretty sure the laws regarding assault and assault with battery are fairly the same between the US and the UK, and that is exactly what's going on in this situation. A bunch of relative strangers on the internet are not going to be the ones really capable of helping you, but you need to involve the proper authorities, whether that's school admin or the police.

Uh... also... ignoring the TOS violations revealed in this thread but... yeah... I'm... just going to... go over there now. Far, far away.
