Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
No seriously , artists are living beings with feelings and responsabilities in the real world , the last thing we need is someone nitpicking on some quick doodles we do to relax. This was not made for personal reason, I've been discussing this problem with fellow artists who's been experiencing these things. ^_^

But yeah, I agree. It's easy to tell when something's a doodle made for fun, let's not put doodles to some artistic standards. They aren't serious arts. o3o

I unironically can't believe I'm reading that. This "don't like it, don't read it" argument is as old as the Internet, and... You know what? I'm just going to pretend I never read that. See ya.

There's been a surge of people just bashing doodles out here? If they don't like the work, they don't have to look at it, click on something else guys o_O
I'm thinking the issue is just a few people trying to stir things up for the heck of it. I hate when that happens -_-
I generally only make positive comments or minor suggestions and not that often either. If I don't care for something I ignore it. I don't really see any point in getting worked up or offended. It is a matter of personal taste about whether or not someone likes, hates or is indifferent to a particular posting. I learned very young that the World wont be very accomodating in addressing my wants.
Thank you, Crissy, for posting this. Even as a lurker, who hasn't posted any art work, I am often quite disturbed by some members' comments and demeanor. I agree wholeheartedly with Oscar77--when I see something I don't care for, I just keep quiet and move on (it's not "all about me"!!).
P.S. I, too, was tremendously amused by "mud"--personally, I had little trouble reading this...but, then again, I still write in cursive...I must be an alien too.

It comes down to that old saying "If you cannot say anything nice....then don't say anything at all". But it would seem that there will always be individuals who will find fault no matter what you do.
My solution ? Eat chocolate and enjoy life. Let the trolls and nitpickers go eat themselves. And not in a sexual way. XP
Yeah, we don't want this site to resemble YouTube. Half of the comments there are vile and hateful. Even DeviantArt is getting that way. We need a sign that says "Haters and Trolls will be spanked".

If you get so upset or bothered by someone else's doodle on here that you feel the need to go out of your way to spend the time commenting you should probably find a hobby or something lol :P
I love the idea and the reason for making this is so annoying for all artists out there. Why critique something that...
1. Critiquer couldn't draw themselves
2. Just to hate on someones work
Also this is a person friendly website and we like to make everyone feel warm and cozy. Do not shame other artwork or peoples attempts. Even if a piece in your mind looks "below average" or whatever is said (just using examples here) keep that to yourself and also...someone that is new here or even new to art would have a much better time adjusting if you would give them the chance they deserve. I'm almost positive Circe, CC, Aprion etc.. didn't birth with a pencil in their hands and paper in their mouths. Everyone starts somewhere and if you look at a gallery on this website I want anyone to look at that artists 1st post on here then see there latest masterpieces. I'm not even saying that these artists need improvement or don't know how to draw paint etc... its not difficult to give positive feedback and nice compliments.

Almost everything that needed to be said has been said so I'll just nod and agree that you should always respect what people create and post even if you don't like or agree.
It does no benefit to anyone to only leave negative comments with nothing constructive. Also very cute comic regardless of the reason for it =P
