I'm not sure if I still prefer the first film or not. I think there's elements in both that I love so it's hard to choose.
and yes there's an ancient Butler who serves Mycroft and Mycorft's assistant at his home who just dodders around rattling a tray. It seems like he served Sherlock and Mycorft as children and he's just adorable and somewhat of an almost senile almost-invalid.

And Mycroft likes to wander around in his house in the nude.
And when Sherlock pushes Mary out of the train it's Mycroft who saves her and brings her back home to live with him while Watson's away.
Mycroft: "hello. i'm the otehr holmes"
Mary: *swimming looking horrified* there's two of you?!
