Ooh that could work. Perhaps a split of loyalty there or maybe the make a big show of splitting the company with the smaller group being the ones that go to join up with the North while the others remain and do more recruiting and such. Of course in truth they have an agreement that once Lord Stark confirms he's willing to pay a premium for their services they'll bring in the rest.

Maybe they later split and one faction remaining in Essos chooses to still carry the Raven why the other wears a blue flag with a wolf in honor of House Stark.

Or something more complex, like a wolf and a hawk? Sometimes knights and such have very elaborate signs.

Hm, as far as I know there is no symbol for the north as a whole. An animal like a hawk would also work. Or maybe a Crow, symbolizing the wall.
-
Hmmm there really isn't a sign for the north as a whole is there? Maybe something to symbolize the Wall or the fortress right at the Neck (Moat Calin or something, I've have to look it up, but it's what held off a lot of invasions and had a bunch of towers), and those that claim some relation to one of the northern houses might have their sigil as a small mark in a corner or something.

What should be their sign, as snowflake on the green? lol Thats kinda funny because right wingers call lefties snowflakes because of their supposed weakness.

Sons of Snow I believe, and yay that works.
