Happy belated birthday, child of vision. I'd wish you had plenty of a certain birthday traditions, but I remember that's not your dig.
In ye olden days, women tried to get preggers so they'd bear children in the Spring to Autumn. However, things never seem to go as planned. Generally an easier time of year to push out kids back then, I'm told. Since ancient times, children lucky enough to make it through being born at yule time (within a fortnight of the winter solstice) were called a child of vision. It was considered a fae time of year where fairie-kind walked the earth, while nature slumbered in winter. So children born at this time were considered magikal. That a successful birth must mean you were blessed by fairie-folk. It was considered they were born with foresight for the coming new year, thus, a "child of vision."
