Yeah, sorry. I guess this is where our little dialogue ends. You just seem to be not interested in anything except that one thing. No offense, but sometimes its good to go with one idea and skip the one you currently want to do most.

Yeah, well, fuck all good any of it does me; can't find anyone who wants to rp with the characters.

I would support a new show. Even though the original was lacking. But I liked the MK animated movies.

...It's over 30 years old. It ended. It was just one way to keep the property going at the height of its' popularity; it did its' job. I agree there's lost potential and I wish they would have kept on, but it's over.
The only content we have now is the games.

Thing is I don´t really care about mass appeal. Popularity doesn´t mean quality. And in that the show is lacking. Compared to something like Batm Tas...there is just so much lost potential.
-
Put it this way: I was 4 when it came out and it's the only reason I even bothered to pay attention to Mortal Kombat at all. I was too young for the games, and they didn't look interesting until this put awareness in my mind. And I doubt that experience is unique; it's like how you've got a Batman fan in every generation, because they pump out media that appeals to those specific age ranges. It was a series that coincided with the release of the movies in those same years; it got more people aware of the movies, then the games.
And anyway, what's it matter? It's not like it even remotely affected the games?
-
Did it? I guess I just don´t like kid friendly MK much.
-
And? It got a whole new generation into the games didn't it? While still giving them adventures to imagine? What's the big complaint here? Especially when there were other kid friendly martial arts shows that followed it, often with even less success.
-
Good point. But I just think its Mortal Kombat light. Maybe they´d better made a kid friendly martial arts show.
Good. There is a lot of anti-diversity media out there. Its disgusting.
-
...How does it cheapen the 'real' Mortal Kombat? It's a cartoon spin-off, it clearly didn't hurt it in any way? It was a fun romp from a game series that, while violent, doesn't take itself too seriously either?
I do care about diversity in media; it's important for people to be able to see themselves and their stories represented properly.
