Hope this is enough to work with! I decided to go with a Japanese setting just because I thought it might add a bit of variety from most other modern day rps which seem to be set in the US.

I had a quick look at some creatures in japanese mythology, I will have a more thorough look when I come home but I read about amanojaku and the namahage. The amanojaku are small, demon like creatures that tempt humans into wickedness by encouraging their darkest desires. The namahage are frightening looking creatures who wear straw capes and travel in twos or threes, going around looking for badly behaved children to admonish.

Either is good. Both are important after all. I think if we think more about the characters we want to play, the setting to facilitate these characters might come more easily. The opposite is true as well I guess.

These all sound like they could be a lot of fun to do.
The punishment shack sounds like it could be especially fun. Like something the younger generation of ninjas in the clan have heard of, but not all of them have had the misfortune of seeing it for themselves.

Maybe there is a punishment shack for the underachiever ninja, or a ninja who messes up, rather than seppeku. And perhaps a rogue from the clad who does as he pleases and forms allies with whomever he likes; having his own agenda. Probably a sort of hero amongst the younger ninja, but a huge pain in the butt for the higher ranking members of the clan. As although the rogue is doing well and making a name for the clan, at the same time it is not what has been consented to by the clan as a whole.

That sounds good. Maybe my character can be related to the clan through blood then. Since I imagine the few that manage to get in would have a better work ethic, lol.

Ah cool. I feel like that one might require more prep, but I'm okay with that Just because the scenario sounds quite detailed.

I figure a but of both. A lot of the long-standing families have relatives that are travelling or providing aid to big officials whom the clan have vowed to protect for decades upon decades. They accept new members under the strictest of conditions.

I would very much like to try the 'into the room' also - realised that I didn't clarify that, ha.

Might need to read up on that trial, so can't guarantee anything with that one just yet! Sorry to be a pain.

That sounds good! I'm all for big stoic characters. What are your thoughts regarding the makeup of the small ninja clan? Will some of the members be relatives of each other, or will it just be a sort of brotherhood that members have to pass an initiation in order to enter?

Would you mind doing something with Matt Engarde and maybe De Killer, post-arrest?
It's okay if you think it would be too difficult if you can't remember details. There's no rush or anything. ^^

Happy with that. I can play a big, stoic, masked ninja veteran who puts up with no shit. Or another type of character - whatever takes your fancy.
