It's basically Kana's current parents treat her horribly, they constantly bruise her bottom and switch her for punishment canings. They've even caned her after giving her Firebottom 1.

During this time, she talks to a teacher who is eventually able to get her rejuved early to start over with a new family. To her pleasant surprise, Kana's new father is the teacher.

If we did that, we'd start with her waking up after her early rejuve.

As a teen-ager, Yua's mother took care of her since her parents divorced when she was 7. Her mother was verbally abusive and beat her occasionally. She started talking in the third person, believing among other things, that no one else would acknowledge her, so she'd acknowledge herself. It was also partly a "watching myself from afar, I don't feel like I'm Yua" type mentality.

She constantly skipped school and hated most people. She contemplated suicide a few times, never got around to doing so. One day, she gets into a conversation with a man who convinces her to give life a second chance and growing up again. She leaves quickly, and later, while holding a knife, trips and accidentally jabs her leg. A young Completas gets her to the hospital and while there, the man she talked to visits her and she tells him she'll try the rejuvenation.
