It would depend. The first time she just lies around grumbling "I don't wanna get uuuup", they'll first try to tell her to get up now, that she can't lie there all day. If that doesn't work, then they'll try the old-fashioned "yank blanket away"-routine. If THAT doesn't work - a firm "young lady, please get out of bed now, unless you want your bottom smacked.". And, finally, if that doesn't get her out, a few well-placed smacks to her already sore rear. Not a full spanking though - not for a first-time minor thing like this.

If it becomes a recurring problem, that's another matter, because then it becomes willful disobedience, but somehow I don't think it will...or will it?

A smart guy like Steven and his colleagues (people like Einstein also worked on the Manhattan Project, and if Einstein can't figure it out, no one can :P ) could probably McGyver a recharger for the phone? She of course wouldn't be able to use it to call or text anyone, but she'd have her pictures, and her music (for her new parents to go crazy over ), etc.

LOL! I love it. Best way to misunderstand each other. As for the sports, that's perfect. Eve is no not going to listen to her regarding that. I can hardly wait to see Bianca reaction the first time she sees Eve after she's been out 'playing' with the others.

Also, btw, I have a feeling that Steven and Bianca are rather "liberal" for parents in the 1950s? Of course they don't subscribe to the "Just let kids do whatever they want, all the time"-philosophy, so Evelyn will probably feel that they're quite strict, but when they do say "no!", they will try to explain why, and they seem to be more affectionate, more caring than at least the popular image is of parents in the 1950s.

And when they see her love of being physically active, they'll support it, I think. Not baseball or American football, of course ("Those are boys' sports, Evvie, dear"), but something like girls' soccer would not be a problem.

I'm not sure how you mean He's been pretty "covering his bases" right now, telling her that he'll try, but that she shouldn't get her hopes up.

Btw, while Steven WILL try to get approval for research into rebuilding the machine, he's going to be turned down. None of the brass want to mess with time itself...
