Uploading new versions of a pic doesn't help in at all and really just makes our gallery messy.

Yah, the title and description disappearing is a very well known issue, we've had it about two years... unfortunate (or perhaps lucky) that you haven't come across it.

Essentially it's down to ascii. Our current gallery software doesn't recognise ascii or 'special' characters. The usual culprits are the "" that are used on dA - quite deliberately they use a type of quotemarks that most websites can't read if it's copypasted - or a type of three dots called an elipse...
The three dots are actually a single character and again our software can't read them.
It used to just give a big square box when stuff was used it couldn't read but for the last two years it blanks the whole bloody textbox instead. You can edit the image and insert the correct text you just either have to type it or 'clean' it by taking out the special characters.
