The setting is a sort of medieval fantasy world with some steam punkish technology, we can come up with whatever we want. Anyway. The opening story is a young mercenary encouters a young women, being publicly whipped then exiled from the town he was passing through for whatever crime she was accused. Feeling pity toward her, he offers her to tag along with him on his many adventures. Later down the line you can introduce a little half dragon girl whom they together adopt.
