Want to get rid of the annoying adverts? The answer is simple. There are 4 levels of advertising on AnimeOTK:
Level 1: (Your Level, guests and members with 0-9 posts) has maximum advertising. Level 2: (A user with 10 or more posts who has been a member over two weeks) have vastly reduced advertising (including removal of the large full screen closable adverts) Level 3: (A member who has been registered over a month and has over 50 posts, or has a special account like "artist" or "writer" sees minimal advertising. Level 4: (VIP Donators) receive no advertising.
All donators of $10 or more will never see an advert on our site again!
Ah~
Sounds like you havn't told your PC what sort of a file it is.
Presumably for some reason before it opened them in some kind of browser-player... thats not how its supposed to work, its supposed to be downloaded to your PC and then played there.
You'll need to tell your PC that its a video file.
Try to open it and tell it to use media player classic to run it.
or right click on it, select "Open with" or something like that and tell it to open it with a media player or (media player classic if you have the pack installed).
or right click, go to "Properties" and follow the first tab, go to "Open with" and find a media player program and select to permanantly associate it.
OR, another option is to open media player classic which you installed with the pack (right? right?) and go View -> Options. Then Player -> Formats -> Associations: Select 'ALL' and 'Okay'.
Then it should know what to do with .mp4 files... ie; play them when you double-click them.
I sorta promised myself that I wouldn't get involved with technical problems people have playing the files when I started posting the thumbs, but I am kinda curious about yours~
What program do you need to open/play the MP4s? Any video program can play MP4, if you install the stickied codec pack from this site then it adds the decoding info to your PC. Then even simple (and rubbish) things like the basic windows media player etc which comes with windows should open it themselves. You shouldn't need any special programs at all, any video program can play them once the codecs are added. Even windows explorer and firefox should be able to open MP4 format video.
Can I ask what issues you're having (to satisfy my morbid curiosity and possibly in case I can help)?
