I was thinking maybe the indigenous beings are very easily led and manipulated.... And maybe they become like slaves to whoever the bond with. I like the idea that maybe it is strictly a chemical reaction so that over time they may react to someone else and change loyalties. It gives them some interesting possibilities. Perhaps they can morph into the Master's idealized visit by some sorry of telepathic relationship. They have all this power but they are very innocent in their motives.... Adopting other ppls' agendas as their own but without the underlying motives. What say you?
