"What do you mean?" he asked, smiling at them as they continued to eat their food, "you three are clearly in need of some help, and I'm more than happy to give it to you". He knew that the kittens had probably not experienced kindness from another person in a long time, but Sam was adamant to help them in any ways he could.

The reddish one frowned and put an arm in front of the youngest one. "Whatever you want in return doesn't include her" She hissed, the white one looked at her confused while Emily sighed, yet looked scared of what the man would want in return.

"Trust me" he said, smiling warmly at the ginger kitten to put her mind at ease, "I don't want anything in return, I only want to help you". He understood why the child was being so defensive, but wanted to do all he could to put her mind at ease.

Emily calmed down a bit wile Robin lowered her ears and began to finish her soup. The little white one looked up at him and mewled.

"Thank you"

"Aww, you're welcome sweetheart" he said, leaning over and gently scratching the girls ears.

The reddish one hissed and was about to scratch him but the black one stopped her, meanwhile the white little one purred and raised her arms to be carried.

"Hey, don't worry" he said to the little ginger kitten, gently lifting the white cat girl up into his arms and stroking her head, "I'm not going to hurt anyone, I promise".

The ginger one hissed while being restrained by the dark one, the white one purred and nuzzled to his chest. "he's warm" She muttered while sucking on her thumb.

Sam chuckled at the little girls cuteness, bouncing her playfully in his arms as he made his way through the house. "Come on then" he said, gesturing for the other two to follow him, "let's get you three somewhere comfy to sleep tonight".

Emily looked at him and nodded while Robin growled yet followed them in the end.
