"Oh that sounds like fun." Trevor said with a grin on his face. He also likes going to the park, but he wants to go hunting more because he had waited for so long.
Nigel was happy that the brother at least got along. He knows that the older one tries his best to give him the love that their father doesn't show. He soon turns to the younger one as he was at the door. Asking if they can leave. "It's cold outside, we need you to grab your coat." he said and gets him from the coat rack. Putting it on him before he puts on his worn out, but warm coat. "Alright, we are heading out." he calls out. "Bye Oliver, bye Mr.Chan." the older brother calls out before the two of them left for the park which was close tot he house. Then his father tells him to finish breakfast so that they can get going as well. "Yes, father." he tells him. Finishing his juice and toast. Then wipes his face of the mess on his lips. Then excused himself from the table to get ready to. |
Oliver smiled, "Yes I hope it will be fun, and if I'm lucky perhaps Mr. Chan will buy me an ice cream." he grinned and then whined a bit when Nigel told him it was cold outside and that he needed to wear his coat. "But Mr Chan, I do not feel the cold and I do not want to wear my coat..." he argued as the two of them headed out of the large front door. He took it off and refused to put it back on.
George watched his oldest son and smiled some, "Go and grab your warmest clothes, son." he told him before heading down into the cellar to grab his prize winning hunting rifle and a junior rifle for his boy. He then headed upstairs and grabbed his coat and shoes, "Are you ready, Trevor?" he asked, smiling some. |
As they were heading out, the nanny stopped in his tracks as he was told by his small charge that he did not want to wear his coat. For he didn't feel cold. "You may not be cold now, but you will in a matter of moments." he tells him. Then frowns as Oliver took off his coat. "Now Oliver, is that any way to behave?" he asked in a firm tone. "If you do not put it on, then we shall not be going. I will not have you catch a cold on my watch." he tells him.
Trevor went to his room and pull on warmer clothes and proper boots to walk around in the woods. Then he went down the stairs to meet up with is father. Asking him if he was ready. "I am, father." he said with a grin. Then turns to his brother who was still home. Seeing he was disobeying their nanny when told to wear a coat. He remembers when he doesn't listens to him. |
Oliver frowned up at him and shook his head, "But I will not catch a cold." he argued but put it on anyway because he really wanted to go to the park. He zipped it up and then turned to face Nigel, "I am taking my coat of the moment we get to the park, and you shall have no say in it." he told him, his tone disrespectful for the moment.
George looked over at his younger son when he got a tone with the Nanny and he frowned, "Oliver King, that is no way to behave, you apologize at once." he growled. "...Sorry..." he mumbled. George frowned and then turned to his older son, "Here, this is your junior rifle." he said, handing the weapon to him, "Do not press the trigger until I say so, understand?" |
It was not easy to rise kids, even harder when it's not yours. He still had a stern look on his face, but it hurt him on the inside when he spoke to him in such a manner. His father had to step in to tell him to say sorry to him. Which he did, but it didn't sound like he meant it. He pats him on the shoulder. "It's quite alright. Now lets go to the park." he tells him and leads him out of the house and to the park. It was a nice side park with a big pond.
Trevor kind of felt bad for his brother, but he knew that it was naughty to talk to Nigel like that. His father then hands him a small rifle, which was the perfect size for him. Being told not to pull the trigger til he said so. "Yes, father." he tells him. As he admires the craftsmen of the gun. He couldn't wait to hunt. |
Oliver nodded his head and followed Nigel to the park, he just hoped they didn't have to do boring things like shopping and stuff like that. He knew those duties were left to Nigel and Oliver always had to tag along. Once they were there, the child rushed into the park and beamed brightly, going to the swing set to play.
George nodded, "That's my boy, now come on." he said, taking his arm and leading him along to the horse and carriage waiting outside. He got in and sat his son beside him. "It will take us twenty minutes to get there." |
Nigel smiles as he watched the little boy rush over to the swings. He was happy that he could find enjoyment in the most simple of things. Taking a seat on a nearby bench to watch him. Making sure that he doesn't wonder off or take off his coat. Which it's a good thing he told him to put it on for the wind was starting to slightly pick up and it was very chilly.
Back at the house, Trevor was grabbed by his arm by his father as he lead him out of the house and into the carriage. Where he sat next to his father. Who tells him that it will take some time to get there. "Okay." he said happily. While they travel, he held up the gun and was pretending to shoot at some deers. Making gun like sounds and pretend to pull the trigger without touching it for real. |
Oliver played on the swings for a little bit, and then he noticed his Nanny wasn't watching him and was talking to an old friend. He got off the swings and quickly went out of sight, going over the road to the market stalls. He had a bit of money and he hoped he could buy ice cream. He was glad he was able to slip away.
George chuckled proudly as his son pretended to hunt some deer, thinking that he would make a fine huntsman. "One day, we will go to Asia and hunt some Tigers, but you will be much older." he told him, putting a hand on his shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze. |
While he was sitting there, an old friend came up to him and asked how he was. Though he was speaking in a different language then English. For he was speaking Chinese, but that was no problem for him since he is half. They chatted for awhile before his friend left. As he turns around, he sees that his small charge was gone, making his face go pale. He continue to speak in Chinese in worry and then starts looking for him, calling out his name as he runs around. After he spots him he rushes over to him and places a hand on his shoulder. "Oliver King! What were you think running off like that?! That was very naughty of you." he scolds him. "We are going home and when we do, it's a trip over my knee for you." he tells him. Taking him by the hand and firmly takes him home.
He smiles as he was told that when he is older, his father will take him to Asia to hunt tiger. "Oh that sounds amazing. We can even like Oliver and Mr.Chan come to right?" he asked with a smile on his face. |
Oliver squeaked when his Nanny took his hand and scolded him, "I-I...I just wanted to buy an ice cream cone Mr. Chang!" he pleaded as he was lead along home. His eyes widened when he mentioned he would be going for a trip over his knee, "Nooo! No! Please!" he pleaded with his upset Nanny, the small boy trying to pull his hand free. "I do not want a thrashing!"
"No son, it will be just the two of us. Oliver will be too young and I would imagine Mr Chang would be busy." George answered, since he wanted it to just be him and his boy. "Now then, we are almost there, what do you know about handling rifles?" |
