Royalty and rules. They weren't necessarily concepts independent from each other. In other words, just because she belonged in the former, it didn't mean she could dodge the latter when it suited her needs. In a way, more than paying for a crime, a lesson was being taught. While teaching her a lesson, Aether must have been doing some inevitable learning himself. About her really. About royal hindquarters.
