"The look you get when you want me to do something... we'll say 'freaky,' but you don't want to say what it is and I have to guess. That look. The answer is no." Lucy pecked her on the lips and went off to help Leaf make the Christmas poffins.
Daisy vowed to herself that the answer would be "yes" before the night was over. In the meantime, she winced, for Loudred was attempting to sing "O Christmas Tree."
Mankey came bolting out of Hilda's room, and screeched her discontent at her beauty sleep being interrupted while jumping up and down. As Lucy and May helped Leaf mix the dough for her Poffins, Lucy turned to her former student. "I'm inviting Dawn and Cynthia to spend Christmas here. I'm not sure they will though, with both of their families being in Sinnoh. Hopefully we'll see them at least a few days this month."
"That's great, Lucy!" May swept Leaf up for a spin despite her age. "Did you hear that, Leaf? Dawn might finally be bringing her butt over here!"
Moon knelt beside Deino. "You've never celebrated Christmas, have you, little one? And Mankey hasnt, either." |
Deino shook his head. He'd been around a few Christmases, but he'd never celebrated before. Softly, he began crooning "Blue Christmas," his favorite holiday song.
(Awww. <3)
Everyone shut up to listen to Deino's sweet and adorable singing. Even Kris stopped moaning about how much she hated this time of year for a moment, for if a Pokemon longed to celebrate Christmas, there must be some good in the season. |
By the time Deino had performed his song and given his encore, the house smelled like baking poffins. Lucy quietly decided they would have to make cookies too. If the Pokemon got to eat something good, the humans should too. Besides, spiked egg nog sounded pretty good to her.
"Just because the Pokemon get something good doesn't mean you get tl eat cookies, Lucy," Moon informed her after baking a batch. "I'm taking these to Hau. Besides, you and everyone else ate the chocolate cream malasadas i made for him yesterday!"
"I'm patient. I can wait for you to stop using the oven." Lucy began mixing dry ingredients for a new batch.
"How patient are you, Lucy?" Hilda asked, getting the egg nog out of the fridge. "Patient as a jaguar watching its prey, waiting to pounce?" She'd overheard that conversation. "...Please don't repeat any of that." |
As Lucy mixed ingredients, Mint carefully separated the waistbands of her slacks and underwear from her back, and Moon neatly cracked an egg into them. Mint let the garments snap back into place, and the little girls highfived eachother and yelled with laughter.
