“I hate you you know that?” Kairi responded before rolling her eyes. “Alright whatever, fine I’ll accept the deal,” she replied with a huff. “Can these cuffs come off now? They’re god damn annoying. And who’s gonna be in my foster family anyway because I don’t want a bunch of people who won’t give a damn about me.”

"Pity, I think you are actually kinda cute when you snarl.", Bill said. "Sure they can come off now, as long as you don't get violent.", the cop responded and helped her out of them. "Well.. I think I am going to volunteer. I have a bit of experience with street kids and I am pretty easy going, which doesn't mean I won't punish you if you don't get into trouble. Also it will give me time off. Are you hungry? I could go for breakfast right now. Say the word and we head to the next good diner. I'll even pay for everything. ", he told her friendly, trying to make a better impression than he might have made the first time around.

“I am not cute, and you aren’t allowed to call me that,” Kairi responded while glaring up at him. When she was freed she rubbed her wrists where they had been cuffed before stretching her arms. She would’ve probably attacked him but she didn’t have a knife or atom displacer with her so she thought against it. “I’m not being looked after by a cop,” she said, though if she had to choose between him or his partner she would choose him. When the mention of food was made she wanted to say she wasn’t hungry, a reflex she had done whenever Pedro had asked her, but her stomach grumbling kind of gave her away. The girl blushed before letting out a huff. “Alright fine I’ll go with you, but only because you’re gonna feed me.”

"Fine fine. Would you be fine with me saying that you are a major brat?", Bill said, countering her sass with sarcasm. "Well, maybe you´ll reconsider it after you´ve eaten. I promise I´ll treat you well as long as you are not being too much of a pain.", he assured her and lead the girl outside. It was only a short walk from the KGS headquarters to one of the more fancier diners in the area. They wouldn´t be able to eat this well all the time on Bills meager salary, but for this time he thought it was worth an investment. They even had real bacon with their eggs which was quite a treat, since due to overpopulation a lot of food was made of soy and other such things. The whole diner was decorated in a pseudo 50´s nostalgia style, which Bill thought was corny, but at least the food was good. Soon after they had sat down in the seat of a sitting area that was decorated like an old timer car a waitress in a skimpy uniform came to serve them in record time. Not a lot of people were already visiting due to it being still early in the morning. Most of the other costumers were wage slaves in better suits, eating breakfast on their way to a business meeting or something. "Well, do you like it here? I think its a bit silly, but the food and the coffee is really good.", Bill said casually and leaned back in his seat, trying to make the girl comfortable.
"I take a big cup of black coffee and the standard breakfast menu. Oh, and keep the coffee coming.", Bill said and then gave the menu to Kairi,"Whar are you having? Technically you can choose what you want, but I´d appreciate it if you choose not the most fanciest foods. I still have bills to pay." Soon after they had ordered the food arrived (in record time even!), smelling delicious. Bill hoped this would at least somewhat relax Kairis attitude. "Looks good, doesn´t it? I wish I could eat like that every day, but yeah, KSG has just lowered pay again, fucking shame I guess, but corporate exploitation doesn´t stop at the security sector. Well, at least I get a small bonus for taking care of you from my employer...", he explained in a chatty tone.

“Fuck you,” she grumbled while following him outside. When they finally arrived at the diner the smell of food entered her nose and she was pleased to finally have food that smelled nice. She always appreciated Pedro, but his food could be a bit bad if she were being honest. As she took her seat she would look over her menu and place her order as the waitress came. She didn’t listen to a word Bill said as she was trying to ignore him and simply focused on waiting for the food to come.
When the food finally did arrive she started to eat rather quickly, stuffing her mouth even. It took a while for her to finish her plate but when she finally did she let out a content sigh and laid back in her seat, thoroughly relaxed.
“Is that why you took me in? Because it pays you more?” she asked suddenly accusative.

When she cursed he slapped her behind lightly. "Could you stop cussing all the time? I don´t mind a bit of language, but it has to come at its proper time.", he explained to her. When Kairi didn´t make conversation with her he just shrugged and waited for the food, leaning back in his seat. So far he was still patient with her. Then they ate. Bill took his time. The cop was enjoying the rare good meal and the good, strong coffee, relishing it. He laughed as Kairi stuffed her face. "Hey, don´t eat so fast. Enjoy it. Relish it. My wife mostly has to get soy products because of my poor salary.", he explained. Then he sighted. "No, its not that. For such a small bonus I wouldn´t take care of a kid. Way too much work. I took you in because I generally care for kids like you. Its a harsh world out there and you do deserve a bit of protection and love.", the cop stated.

Kairi squeaked at the swat to her bottom and gently rubbed it, sticking her tongue out at him. “I can say whatever I want when I want.” The food was absolutely delicious she could definitely admit that, even if the restaurant looked rather stupid to her, when she was told not to eat too fast she ignored the warning and continued to eat like she hadn’t eaten in days, which was a little true given her aversion to accepting meals. “Well I’ll say this, I don’t need protection and I don’t need love. Just leave me alone in whatever room I’ll be in while I’m with you and we won’t have any problems.”

"We´ll see about that.", Bill said in a more serious tone, but he didn´t feel like discussing that any further with her right now, even though how she stuck out her tongue was cute, if a bit childish for a fourteen year old. "Well, chew at least before you stuff your mouth, or else you´ll choke.", he said shaking his head at her behaviour. "Everybody needs some love, kiddo.", the cop said wisely,"But yeah, If you want to be alone I won´t bother you too much. Just be there with the family when we eat, please. ", he offered and finished his coffee, before checking his pda for the time. "Okay, when you´re finished and we have paid we´ll take the metro to my place.", the cop stated, "Oh yeah, one more thing. If you cross a line and your behaviour gets too unsufferable you WILL get a good spanking. You understand? I am your guardian now and that means I am responsible for disciplining you. I won´t be too strict, but I am not a pushover, either.", he promised.

Again she didn’t pay any mind to the warning and scarfed down her food. “Not me, I’ve lived well enough without and I’ll keep doing so,” Kairi responded though she didn’t want to admit she was thankful her wish to be left alone would mostly be honored. “When you say the family you mean just you right? You don’t have any other brats to take care of?” Of course she didn’t really mind having a mom or another dad, but other kids younger or older than her were like flies to her. Annoying, loud, and always around you when you didn’t want them to be. “You aren’t spanking me again,” she stated like it was a fact. “I won’t let you.”

"Hey, even you must have had some friends.", Bill argued. "No, no brats. Just my darling eleven year old daughter. And my wife of course. They are both very kind. Hope you´ll get along.", he told her. "Oh, a tough one, aren´t we? Well, I am afraid you can´t really do anything about it if I set my mind to it. The truth hurts but the sooner you live with it, the better.", the cop said, narrowing his eyes slightly. "Now let´s head to the metro. We better hurry or it will be too crowded to get a seat.", he told her, getting up.
