“Of that I am aware, which is why I said ‘act’; real respect will come in time, but until then I expect you to at least be polite. And I can think of several things that could get your killed; especially if you think you don’t need to listen to me. You have no idea how to feed safely, nor do you understand your powers; you’re not used to your new strength or senses. You would be an easy target if you decided to run off, and if you decided to feed without my aid and ended up given in to your bloodlust then our Prince would have you put down.”

Viktor paused to push his low ponytail back behind his shoulder, “I was led to believe that you were raised in a vampire household; surely you know these things. Even Cillian kept an eye on his children.”

Rafe rolled his eyes again, a habit which he seemed to be doing a lot in response to Viktor's words, when the man finished speaking. "You say all of that like you expect I don't know the way that things work. But because I was raised in a vampire household I am very well aware of how the system works and I'm much too smart to make some stupid move like the ones that you outlined," Rafe said, the tone of his voice more than a bit arrogant as he spoke. The words that he was speaking also lead one to believe that he thought that intelligence would be enough to fight against instinct.

Viktor raised his eyebrow, “I would have thought someone with your background would have a greater understanding of instincts. If you truly think that your knowledge is going to somehow prevent you from losing control – or protect you from hunters – then you are far more foolish than I imagined.”

The elder vampire began to work off Rafe’s pants as he spoke, deciding that he clearly wasn’t making enough of an impression on his fledgling.

"I have amazing self control..." Rafe said in response to Viktor's words, the mahogany haired young man making a face at the mention of hunters. "And I can take care of myself, I was trained to fight." He didn't go into detail about that one since he didn't think that it was needed but he was offended by the fact that Viktor seemed to think that he was a weakling or something that wasn't capable of taking care of himself.

Of course his thoughts on the matter shifted when he felt what the older vampire was doing with his pants. "Whoa! Halt, cease and desist! I am NOT okay with this!" Rafe said, the man throwing a hand back in an attempt to grasp his pants and keep them in place where they belonged.

Viktor grabbed Rafe’s wrist and used it to pin his hand to the small of his back, returning to his task of easing the fledgling’s pants down. He fought to keep from laughing at Rafe’s reaction, knowing that amusement would likely make the fledgling angrier. “I don’t need your permission to do this.” He pointed out, “And if you can’t be reasoned with, then I’ll simply have to give you different reason to listen to me.”

Rafe tried with all his might to pull his wrist free when it was captured but found that he could not manage it, much to his chagrin. And the fact that Viktor was not listening to his orders to stop only made him more upset than he had been previous, which was sort of hard to believe. "All you're doing is giving me a reason to run the first chance that I get," Rafe said in an almost growling tone of voice when told that he would have to be given a reason to listen.

“You’re bonded to me, childe, you won’t get very far.” Viktor replied as he restated the spanking, “I can easily sense where you are and I won’t put up with you foolishly neglecting your safety. If I can’t trust you care for your own wellbeing than I can at least ensure that you understand what will happen if you disobey me.”

Even though logically Rafe knew that the words that Viktor was speaking right now were the truth, at least as far as the bond was concerned, he was not in a place where he was willing to accept that. So he was destined to sink into a state of denial, thinking that he would be able to get away from the older vampire and that there was nothing Viktor would be able to do to stop it. "I already said I wasn't going to endanger myself!" Rafe snapped, starting to get frustrated with the situation.

He was also starting to feel a definite burn in response to the smacks that Viktor was delivering though he was, again stubbornly, attempting to fight his reactions. Rafe didn't particularly want to give Viktor the satisfaction of knowing that this was starting to get to him.

Nor did he want to admit that to himself.

“And your attitude and statements quite clearly say that you will.” Viktor retorted, adding a little more strength to the swats as Rafe was still fighting him. Part of the elder vampire was pleased was the stubbornness, as it showed that his fledgling had a strong will, the rest of him wished that Rafe would save that stubbornness for more worthwhile endeavors than defying him.

Another growl left Rafe's lips when the elder vampire just once again asserted that he was going to end up endangering himself. As far as Rafe was concerned that was not the case, he knew how this whole thing worked and he'd witnessed it firsthand so he arrogantly thought that he was prepared for whatever might come up. He didn't bother to tell that to Viktor again, as this had not been well received the other times that he had done so, and instead he just focused all of his attention on fighting against his reactions to the punishment since he clearly couldn't fight against the punishment itself. He had tried to get away but it was blatantly obvious that Viktor was much stronger than he was, a fact that only served to further annoy the fledgling.
