Living with Alice (For finkfly)
 

Mason Graves sat in the kitchen on a dark stormy night, pouring himself a warm cup of tea. He could hear the wind rage outside, and felt sorry for any poor soul who may find him or herself out there that night, human or anthro. Just then, he heard something outside his door and went to investigate.

Young Alice is digging through Mason's trash, looking for something.

Mason opened the door, and looked out into the seemingly endless night, "who's there?" he called.

"Alice tryed to run away, but tripped on a garden hose.

Mason saw the small figure trip and ran over to help. He looked down, and lying there was a little black and white kitten, tail petruding from underneath her dress and big blue eyes looking up at him. "Are you hurt?" he asked kindly.

Alice sniffled but shook her head in response.

Mason took pity on the little girl, lifting into his arms and hugging her close to his chest.

Alice began to cry softly into his chest.

"Hey now, shh" said Mason softly, giving the back of her ears a small scratch as he walked inside with her.

Soon, the cry's began to calm down.
