Norfelt Pununishment School (for Lys)
Ryan O'Conners stood waiting for the Tain to arrive. the Ride from the mainland to Norfelt Islands took about 2 hours. but the wather was fine and the sun was shining.

A shiny curtain of Owen Faye's long, chestnut brown hair peeked out from underneath her beige, hand-knitted cap. She had the tendency to play with it whenever she was nervous or flustered, and she was most certainly more than a bit worried when she felt the train began to slow to a halt. She really didn't want to get off at this place... This so-called school for juvenile delinquents. She had heard that it enforced very strict discipline, although she was unaware of the nature of it. She sighed as she stood up and fixed her cutoff jean shorts that it'd probably be the last time she could wear such a thing. If this school was as strict as was rumored, they'd probably have her in some dopey uniform. Still, Owen felt that she might be able to spice up a uniform... Give it a little bit of her artsy, personal pizazz. After all, she was very good at giving a lot of things here artsy, personal pizzazz. In fact, Owen was too good at it, as she would not be on this train right now if it hadn't been for this fact. Over fifty separate counts of defacement and vandalism... All she had done was sprayed a little paint all over her city! It didn't hurt anyone. Still, she had gotten caught signing her initials to her latest piece of graffiti, and the letters were linked to other images she had illegally created.
Owen didn't regret it. Still, she'd much rather be back home, rather than at this stupid school. On the bright side, she was seventeen, and would only have to attend this place for a year, at the very most. Using the last bit of rebellion she had inside of her, Owen lifted up her suitcase full of clothes and put on a courageous face for the world outside, and stepped off of the train and onto the Norfelt Island platform. The weather was warm and sunny, but that was rather contradictory to how Owen felt on the inside: Stormy. Alright. She was here. Now where the hell was she supposed to go? |
"You must be Owen." Ryan said and offered her his hand to shake. Ryan was 24 years old. and attended the College area of the school as a student of Naval Studies. he was a tall 6ft 3in. 245 pounds of raw mussle, with simi dark brown skin, a result of spending a lot of time at the local pool. "I'm Ryan. I'm going to be your Mentor and Room mate" he said.
|
Owen reached for his hand. She was a bit of a punk, but she wasn't devoid of all manners.
"Yeah, I'm Owen, hi," she said. The light brown skin of her hand was naturally just a tad darker than his tanned skin, even though his own hand dwarfed hers considerably. She looked up at him, clearly not intimidated by his height advantage, nor his build, which was considerably more muscular than her short, curvaceous one. She removed her small hand from his bear paw and hiked her suitcase up a little, implying that she wanted to get moving. "Um, that's cool, I guess. I've never really heard of coed roommates, but, you don't seem creepy..." This may have come off as rude to some, but coming from Owen, it was a compliment. |
"No need to worry." Ryan said. "You want some help? the dorms are a little ways that way?" he said. pointing to a large building.
|
"Nah, I've got it," Owen said, referring to her suitcase, which wasn't terribly heavy, although it was a little bulky. "Do you mind showing me my room? " she asked. Her voice was rather sleepy sounding. It was always like that. "I can drop this off, and I guess you can kind of show me around. That is what you're here for, right?"
It was a little rude, sure, but Owen still thought she was coming off as being fairly amiable. After all, her crimes must have been fairly trivial compared to what some kids did to get tossed in here. Since the building that Ryan pointed to seemed to be the place where she'd be staying, she took off towards the building, moving slowly enough that Ryan could easily catch up and show her exactly which room she'd be occupying. There was a pleasant breeze that blew around the over-sized cream colored t-shirt she was wearing. It hung loosely over her shoulders and extended down past her bottom, so it really resembled a dress more than it did a shirt. The feeling of the wind would have been nice if it hadn't been for the fact that she was here on Norfelt Island. |
"Among over things." Ryan said and lead her to the Dorm rooms. slid his student ID card, which acted as a key, and into room 808. "Your room is the second on the left." he said. "let me know when your done unpacking."
|
Owen didn't really know if she liked Ryan's tone when he said 'among other things', but ignored it, and went into her room. It wasn't awful. Definitely very spartan, but considerably more cozy than a prison cell. She flung her suitcase onto the bed and opened it up. The contents weren't in any real order (Owen wasn't really one for organization or tidiness) so she gathered the bulk of it and dispersed various socks, undergarments, shirts, and bottoms into the empty drawers of the dresser.
She had a peek into the bathroom. At least there was one nice thing about this place! She had her own bathroom! Unfortunately, though, it only had a shower, rather than a tub, like she had hoped for. Still, the privacy would be nice. There wasn't much else to see, so Owen left the room she had been assigned and returned to Ryan. "Done," she announced, giving the older student a small smile. She had unpacked very quickly. She bet he hadn't been expecting that. "So, do you wanna like, show me around the school now?" she asked, figuring that was what was coming up next, now that she had removed the burden of the suitcase. |
"there's one thing we need to do first..." Ryan said. "I trust you don't know the Full story regarding your Sentence here?" he asked.
|
Owen toyed with the hair in front of her face nervously as she answered. She really didn't like the fact that it was referred to as a "sentence".
"Well, no, not really," she admitted honestly. "I know I can get out when I turn 18, though... Is that what you're talking about?" Owen thought back for a moment, trying to remember any details about what the judge had said as he yammered on. "Come to think of it, it seemed like everyone was trying to give me as little information as possible about this place," she commented, her green eyes flitting around worriedly. |
