"Merlin, stay close." Arthur ordered as he dismounted from his horse. The atmosphere was dark, foggy...and sort of eerie. Prince Arthur Pendragon knew that he shouldn't be here...it was forbidden land. If his Father knew...well it wasn't worth thinking about. "If you stray away from my sight Merlin, it will be your hide." he threatened. Even though Merlin could be an idiot and such most of the time...Arthur still cared about him as though he was a friend or a younger brother.

With light footsteps, Arthur moved forward through the marshlands. His sword was in his sheath. "I wonder why Father forbid this place..." he mused aloud to himself and continued through the wetlands. It was a dangerous place to be, an ancient Druid burial ground said to now home powerful practitioners of black magic. The blonde prince kept checking over his shoulder every few steps to ensure his servant was following close behind.

Only because he knew Merlin couldn't defend himself. He didn't know about Merlin having Magic so he assumed Merlin was pretty much a hopeless case. Arthur continued walking until he happened upon a dark, damp cavern. "Come, Merlin." he ordered without looking behind him.

Only when he heard no answer, he looked and saw Merlin was gone. Immediately Arthur unsheathed his sword and looked around, "Merlin!?"

For the umpeth time, Arthur told him to stay close. Unlike what Arthur might have been lead to believe, Merlin wasn't an idiot. He was far from it, in fact.
He knew fully well of the possible dangers lurking at the burial ground, most likely better than what the prat did.
That too, was just another of those things he could never tell the prince.
"Aye," he mumbled and was about to take a step towards the opening of the cave, when a faint shimmer he could see from the corner of his eye caught his interest.
Without giving it much thought, Merlin walked away from the cave, the light guiding him away from Arthur deeper into the woods.

Arthur groaned aloud when he turned and saw that Merlin was gone. What had he told the boy over and over again? He sighed and sort of hoped that he was being stupid and had wandered off rather than something grabbing him. Despite the kid being hopeless and an idiot...and pathetic...and annoying...and wait, where was this going? Oh right. He didn't want anything bad to happen to Merlin. The blonde twenty year old continued through the marshlands, looking around for that little idiot.

"Merlin?!" he snapped before then noticing him in the woods, following some sort of light. "MERLIN!!!" He barked and stormed over, grabbing his arm when he reached him and then delivering a blistering flurry of smacks to his skinny bottom. "What did I tell you moments ago?" he asked in a low, stern tone. "Drop your trousers and underwear, Merlin, Now." he ordered.

Arthur then contemplated cutting a switch to spank Merlin's backside with.

Just as Merlin reached out a hand to touch the light, his arm was grabbed by the prince.
The smacks that was planted onto his bottom woke him out of his half-conscious state.
"Uh... you told me to," Merlin began saying before he cut himself off. "What was it you told me," he then asked awkwardly.
Hearing the order Arthur commanded him, Merlin could only reply with a "No."

Meanwhile, in the castle of Camelot, the king paced back and forth, muttering to himself in anger.
"If anything has happened to my son, I'll...!"

Arthur narrowed his eyes at Merlin's answer and shook his head, giving his bottom another good smack. "I told you to stay close Merlin, this land is dangerous and you had no means of defending yourself." he scolded before then shaking his head. "Congratulations, your disobedience has earned you a good switching." he told him before grabbing his shoulder and then placing him against a tree. "Stay here, can you do that?" he asked in a patronizing tone before then cutting a switch. A nice, sturdy looking switch that would get Merlin howling in pain.

The Prince then made his way back to Merlin and yanked down his baggy brown trousers and his britches, baring his skinny bottom. This wasn't the first time Arthur had seen it, he'd given Merlin a good fair few hidings over the years. Arthur then raised Merlin's blue shirt and tapped the thin, whippy switch against his bum cheeks.

"You will not disobey me, Merlin." he scolded, drawing the implement back and whipping Merlin's bottom with it, twice. "You shall stay close to me when I tell you so." another good two lashes whipped across those cheeks. "Do you understand, or is that too complicated for you to comprehend?"

Merlin said nothin as another smack was planted onto his bottom.
"No, means, I'll have you know that.." Merlin protested but cut himself off again. He couldn't let Arthur know about his magic. He just couldn't.
"Aye, sir," he mumbled when Arthur told him to stay by the tree in that type of patronizing voice Merlin absolutely hated.
He just watched in silence as Arthur picked up a long switch that the prince was going to use on him.
Merlin clenched his teeth as Arthur briskly pulled down his pants, and Merlin was left leaning onto the tree with his bottom bare.
"I won't," he replied when Arthur told him that he will not disobey his prince just before his shirt was lifted.
Bracing himself, Merlin made little sound as the switch whipped his bare skin.
"No," he said between gritted teeth. "I understand."

Arthur decided he would have switch Merlin and half hand spank him over his knee as though he were merely a boy. His Father often had him in that position and he knew it was effective. He cringed at the thought of what his Father would do if he knew where he was right now. Shaking that thought off, he raised the switch and whipped it down right across Merlin's bottom, watching as thin red lines appeared over the skin. "I should hope you do understand, Merlin." he answered.

He raised the switch again and again until Merlin's bottom was a mess of red lines from the middle of his bottom down to his thighs. Arthur then threw the switch aside and took Merlin's ear, walking to a stump and then sitting down. "This is not to happen again, Merlin." he told him firmly before placing the skinny boy over his knee.

Once he was in place, Arthur raised his hand and started spanking his bare bottom with great strength.

One of the King's advisors rushed to Uther sort of breathless. "Sire! The prince has been spotted in the Druid burial grounds!" he told him with an urgency.

Merlin grunted as the switch hit him again and again. The end of the implement stung terribly against his unprotected skin and would leave marks for days afterwards.
"I do understand," Merlin answered Arthur's statement. Perhaps he wasn't supposed to answer, but he did it anyway.
He twitched from one foot to the other as the switch worked its way from the center of his bottom all the way down to his thighs.
He almost sobbed as the annoyed prince grabbed him by the ear and he was forced to lie across Arthur's lap.
It goes without saying that a hard spanking by the hand directly after having his backside switched, was a rather unpleasant experience.


Hearing the words his advisor sprouted, the already angered king was blazing in fury.
His worry accompanied with the knowledge of Arthur's outright defiance made Uther's mind set on one thing: The punishment that boy would receive once returned home safely, he wouldn't forget.

Arthur noticed that Merlin wasn't defiant anymore after receiving a good switching, even if the punishment wasn't a full switching. He took the boy's ear and then marched over to a stump where he sat down and placed the younger over his knee. "Merlin, I hope you remember this on the ride back to Camelot." he told him, since riding a horse with a sore bottom was one of the worst things possible, Arthur knew that from first hand experience.

The Prince raised his hand and started spanking Merlin firmly, noticing it didn't take long for the boy to begin sobbing. Once Merlin's bum was a nice, cherry red, Arthur stopped. "Alright Merlin, we're done here." he told him before pulling his clothes back up and then helping his servant to his feet.

He paused before then giving Merlin something of an awkward hug, rubbing his back. "I forgive you Merlin, now come...we should return to Camelot before the King realizes where we are." he told him, moving to his steed and mounting up onto the saddle. He hated for Merlin to do the same and then rode back with haste to Camelot.

Merlin sobbed as Arthur's hand repeatedly struck him. It seemed as though the hotness that followed each strike intensified.
When the prince finally let him up, it felt like his sore bum would be enough to light up the woods.
After Arthur had helped him pull up his pants, Merlin glanced down at the forest floor pointedly ignoring his wet cheeks.
A loud sigh left his mouth as he was pulled into somewhat of an awkward hug and Arthur rubbed his back in comfort.
He said nothing to that, but he did appreciate the prince's sentiment.
The prospect of having to return to Camelot on horseback didn't come to his fancy, but he dared not to raise any word of objection, and so he mounted his horse and the duo galloped away from the woods.

After some time, he could see the gates of Camelot approaching.
What was worse though, the king was waiting for them outside of the citadel.
