Savior of the Orphanage (For Jaden)
 

An old orphanage stands just outside of town that was just about to be closed down when a young women decides to save it and take on the role of caregiver for the orphans that reside there. She had the place renovated and fixed up to code and was back in business, all thanks to her.

25 yearold Rei Kusanagi, the new caregiver arrives from town with bags of groceries, she had a lot of mouths to feed now which made a trip to the store quite the endeavor. "Kids! I'm home!" she called as she came in through the door.

Kotone, called "Koto" unless in trouble walked in. The twelve-year old grinned as she saw Rei. "Need help?" She asked, currently floating a little. She currently had a red mark on her face.

Normally one would freak out at the sight of a floating girl, but Rei new the children here were far from ordinary. They were gifted with supernatural powers and that was a major part of the reason why she wanted to save this place because she knew the world wouldn't treat them so nicely because of their powers. She shook her head with a smile. "I got it sweetheart, thanks though." She puts the grocery bags on the table then approacches Kotone. At that point she notices the red mark on her face "Koto what is with that red mark on your face?" she asked.

Koto floated by her and grinned as her feet touched the floor. When asked about the mark, she rubbed her cheek. "Uhm.. betsuni?" She tried, then sighed a bit. She didn't actually think Rei would buy that, but she had to try.

She frowned. "Kotone out with the truth young lady." she said sternly. She could tell when kids lied pretty well.

Koto squeaked a bit. "Rena decked me.." She said softly, rubbing the red spot a bit, closing her blue eye.

"She did what!? Rena! Get down here young lady!" she called to upstairs very upset.

Rena appeared from beside the refrigerator from its shadow. "What?" She asked with a huff. "I was about to go to sleep, dangit." She added, looking over at Koto, who squeaked and walked through the wall, with only her head sticking in and looking at the scene.

She turned around and faced rene with a look of utter disapproval. "Rena would you care to explain why you hit Kotone?" she asked.

"Does it matter?" Rena asked with a sigh, shaking her head. "Not like she's bleeding or anything.."
