Two little boys enjoying ice cream in a park on a hot summer afternoon. Then talk about their favorite comic book characters and cartoons. One of the boys turns to the other with a smile on his face. "Promise that we will always be friends. No matter what happens." he asked. When he promised, they wrapped their pinkys together and swore to one another they will always be friends.

Sadly that was the last time they would see each other. Until many years later when both boys became men.

"Look man, I am not that bad of a guy." a young man said in his early twenties. Wearing a blank beanie over his fiery red hair Having many piercings on both of his ears of spikes and studs. Plus one of his lover lip, nose and and two hoops above the right brow. Wearing a White tank and tight black ripped up jeans with combat boots. Holding a gun to a man's head as he puts the money of the register into a bag for him. "I hope you do understand that this is just business." he said in a calming voice. Looking right at him with his icy blue eyes.

Zane Walker once grew up in this town when he was a child, but due to certain events, he had to move away and didn't came back til two years ago and has not made a good impression since he came back. It seemed that he was committing a crime every other week. He was in jail for a couple of day and then he was back on the streets. No one knew the reason and he never gave them an answer. He just does what he wants.

When the bag was filled with the money. He smiles and gave him a salute with the gun. "Thank you very much. You have been very helpful." he said and then dashes out of the building. Ducking into an alley way and smiles. "That went easy, a little to easy." he said to himself. Though knowing his luck, the cashier pressed the silent alarm button and soon the cops will come. "Well better get going." he tells him and goes through the maze of the alleyway.

The sirens of the cop car were blaring down the road. The cop in the car sighed, "I guess it just had to be one of those nights." A message had come in on his radio that a local business near him had recently been robbed, so naturally he had to go to the scene.

Grant Nichols drove as safely as he could down the streets of his hometown and hoped that everything was alright. He should have some time until the robber gets out of the store. His light brown eyes scanned the road as he drove to be sure he didn't hurt anyone on the way to his destination. On the way he received another message that a few other officers would be surrounding the area in case he needed back up. "Well that's great, I guess they thought of me." He chuckled as he ran a hand through his blonde hair. "Let's hope I can lead him toward them."

He pulled up and saw a figure duck down the alleyway. He assumed that was the man who had just robbed the store and quickly began to pursue the criminal. "Stop!" He yelled as he followed the figure into the alleyway.

He he as walking quickly in the alleyway. Til he heard a voice. He hissed under his breath and soon takes off running. He was not going to be caught this time or so he tells himself. He did not want to spend the next few days in jail. He had things planned and rather sleep on his couch then to sleep on a concrete bench. His heart was pounding in his chest and and panting like a dog to catch his breath. This is one of the negatives of living a life of crime. On the other hand it's a great way to stay in shape.

Zane soon comes across a chain fence. He throws the sack of cash over the fence before he starts climbing over it. Though it was a little hard since there was nothing his boot could really grip onto. So he struggles getting over it. Not to mention he was feeling the pressure now and knew he had to pick up the pace or he will be caught.

Grant saw the figure start running and picked up the pace. 'Dammit, I wish they would actually stop.' He could not let the robber get away. He saw the chain fence and smirked. At least that would slow down the person he was chasing.

He caught up just before the person jumped the fence and grabbed the person's jacket, pulling him down onto his side of the fence. He could tell now that the person he was chasing was another man, but couldn't see the man's face. "Stay down!" He yelled as he wrestled the man to the ground.

He was half way over when the officer came. "Crap! I thought I had the time!" he said to himself and scrambles to get over the fence. Sadly for him, the officer came and grabbed him by his shirt, He was pulled down and lands on his feet. Then he was tackled onto the ground. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Easy there." he grunts out. Though he was struggling with the officer. He soon turns around and looked him in the face.

Grant pays the man's words no mind and pins him down. Once he gets a good look at the man's face, he starts to realize who he had just caught. "Wait...Zane? What the hell?" He knew those eyes from anywhere, and this was the last place he wanted to see them staring back at him.

He sighs and rolls his old friend over to hand cuff him. He pulls off his cuffs and makes sure to get each wrist in the cuffs properly. "You're under arrest, Zane. This is awkward..." Was all he could really think of to say at the moment.

When he heard him call out his name. He wondered how he knew him then it hit him. "No way, Grant?" he said in a shock tone. Never would he thought he would see his best childhood friend again or to find out that he is a cop now. But he was always a good kid, so maybe it's not that far off.

Before he could could say anything to him, he was place into handcuffs and told he was under arrest. "Yeah. Now how I wanted to see you again." he tells him and chuckles. "Is there any chance you could just let me go this once? I can leave half of the cash behind and just act like you never saw me." he tells him.

Grant rolled his eyes and smirked at his friend's suggestion. "Sorry, but no." He took the time to frisk Zane and found the weapon Zane had used on the shop owner. He took the gun and pushed it a few feet away from them.

"Maybe you can tell me why exactly you chose to steal?" He got off of Zane and pulled his old friend up with him. Other officers were beginning to arrive and collected the bag and the gun for evidence. "It's not like we wouldn't have the time."

He sighs sadly as he tells him no. "Well it was worth a try." he said and stands up as he pulls him up. Squirming a little as he looks for anything on him. Not only would he find the gun on him, but a switch blade as well. Only other thing he had on him were a lighter, a cigarette, his wallet and a stick of gum.

He was then asked for his reasoning for stealing. For they had the time. "Well things didn't quite work out for me. Things went from bad to worse and made some poor choices." he tells him. "But I see life has been treating you well." he said with a sly smile on his face. "So you thinking I'll be in jail for a week?" he asked in a curious tone.

Grant frowned at his friend's misfortune. Although he had managed to make something good of himself, he felt a bit of pity for his friend. "Yeah, a week sounds about right." Grant sighed. This was probably the most awkward reunion that he could have had with his friend. "Try to behave on the way there, okay?" He teased.
