Faculty-Student Relations [For Angel]
 

Conor and Matthew had met when Conor was teaching Matthew's freshman English Literature class. Conor was initially reluctant to date a student, and once they started spending time together he made sure to keep their relationship a secret. Now that Matthew was a sophomore and not taking any of Conor's classes, there was less to be worried about, though the professor still didn't like advertising the fact that his partner was a former student. Now that they'd been together for over a year, they were considering living together.

Though Conor was the older of the two by nearly ten years, he regularly submitted himself to his boyfriend by going over his knee - sometimes for fun, sometimes for punishment. Despite his age, he could be lacking in maturity and careless at times. For example, today he was supposed to meet Matthew for dinner after school, but 30 minutes after the scheduled time he still hadn't shown up to the restaurant. His phone kept going straight to voicemail, which didn't help.

Matthew impatiently glanced at his phone. Again. He was getting looks from the people around him... But they'd be staring when he paddled his boyfriend over the table for worrying him! Conor knew how protective of his lover Matt was. Conor stressed and worried so much that over protecting was a must!

About twenty minutes later, Conor finally showed up and headed towards their table. He looked frazzled and apologetic, but his face was flushed and he was walking somewhat oddly, as if he was having to concentrate on the motions of his feet. It was obvious that he'd been drinking.

"I'm so sorry - I forgot this was today until I went to mark something else on the calendar and noticed it. I'd already settled in and had a few drinks, so I was going to call a cab, but I couldn't find my phone... and I didn't want to just leave you waiting for who knows how long... so I drove here anyway. Not the most brilliant of ideas, but, well, it was only ten minutes. And I didn't get pulled over, so here we are. How can I make it up to you?" His smile was charming, but anxiousness showed in his eyes. He knew he was in trouble.

Matt glared at Conor, positively furious. "You drank and drove? The hell were you thinking?" he hissed to him in a quiet tone. "You could've gotten killed, Conor!" he added. Suddenly, being late to the date didn't matter nearly as much.

Despite his nervousness, Conor smiled and rolled his eyes fondly. "And you think I worry too much. I think getting pulled over is more likely... I haven't had that many drinks. But nothing happened, and a nice heavy meal will sober me up for the drive home." He sighed and shrugged. "I just didn't want to leave you waiting any longer."

"You should have just called me." he scolded him, clearly upset. "Your safety is more important to me than a date."

"I would have, if I'd been able to find my phone." He shrugged helplessly. "Maybe I left it in my office."

Matthew sighed pitifully, and shook his head. "Sometimes I feel like you'd be safer on a leash. Then I wouldn't lose track of you." he teased softly.

"Mm, probably. Might earn me some strange looks at work, though." He smiled. "Let's just have a nice dinner and you can deal with me at home, yeah?"

"You're lucky I won't sober you up with an ice water enema." he told him under his breath, and sighed. "I love you. And I worry about you."
