The Witche's Little Boy (for VulcanSpok)
 

There was once a boy named Joseph. He was an orphan. He was also sixteen, so he had to lean the orphanage. He was about to pass a cottage where a woman who appeared to be in her early to mid twenties was reading.

A woman with hair as black as night and a kind, gentle face was sat outside her little cottage in a rocking chair, enjoying the peace and tranquillity around her. She looked up when the young man passed her and smiled. "Good morning young man, what brings you to this part of the Cottage?" she asked curiously, her dark eyes studying him.

However, I rudely ignore her.

The woman rose a brow at being ignored and shook her head, "Young man if I'd been so rude to an elder at your age my Father would have given me the rough edge of his tongue, and the strap." she explained and then her features softened. "Now, are you going to talk to me?"

"Why do you want to know? And why should I care about what your father would have done to you?"

The woman shook her head, "I'm merely curious is all, and well because I thought you should know that rudeness like that would not have been tolerated when I was a young girl." she explained. "Are you at least going to tell me your name?"

"Joseph. Now, leave me be. Strange woman...." I muttered the last part as I walked down the road.

"Joseph is it? I see." The woman grinned a little, as if she knew something that Joseph didn't. As if by magic a teapot and two china tea cups filled with what looked like tea appeared on a tray on her lap. "You look rather worn out, won't you join me for some tea?" she asked, smiling gently at him, her gaze sharp but gentle.

"What the hell?! Where the fuck did those come from?!" I point at them and back away.

The woman rose a brow, "Now, now, these? They've been here all this time. You would know that if you were paying attention instead of looking at me sideways." she answered and patted the chair beside her, "Come, sit and have some tea, young man, it's rather a blustery day, you must be chilled to the bone, some tea will warm you up."
