New Face at La Fay Manor (for jsaw)

The sun was rising behind the horizon, and a young boy by the name of Chiharu Akiyama was on his way to his new home, La Fay Manor. He had been sent there by his orphanage due to skipping school to the extent that he got himself expelled. He had been driving for over 2 hours now, and was definitely starting to feel the effects of his restlessness. Luckily for him however, he soon arrived.

"We've arrived Chiharu, now I expect you to be on your very best behavior young man." said the old lady in charge of his orphanage. Chiharu had always wondered why on earth she was in charge of an orphanage, after all, she hates kids. The silver haired boy didn't mind getting away from her, that was for sure, he was just hoping that this 'La Fay Manor' wouldn't be worse.

"Yes I know, bye Mrs. Grey." he said as he got out of the car, along with his luggage. He was met with the sight of a large ancient looking mansion. This was by no means what he had imagined. Chiharu had imagined it almost like a prison, but this was more like a royal palace, in his eyes anyway.

Growing up poor and living at an orphanage made the sight of this almost like a shock. Perhaps this would be worse than the orphanage, he thought to himself. He remembered back to school when he used to be bullied by a group of rich kids.

He turned around to see if he could head back to the orphanage with Mrs. Grey, but she was already long gone. With a heavy sigh, the blue eyed boy looked up at La Fay Manor again, before heading up the entrance steps. Chiharu was certainly not going into this with a positive attitude. The young silverhead carried his luggage up and knocked on the large doors a couple of times.

Unsurprisingly enough, no one opened. He was a little late, only by 15 minutes or so. Surely they wouldn't mind. It was his fault though for not wanting to get out of bed, but 15 minutes wasn't too bad. Having gotten out of bed around 6AM, Chiharu was hardly able to keep his thoughts straight. He entered the entrance hall and looked around.

"Hello?.." he called out as he couldn't spot a living soul anywhere. Chiharu took a few steps in and sat down on his luggage before checking the time, it was already 8:40AM.

In the manors large library a young woman, about sixteen, was cleaning, she wore a shin-length black maid's dress and apron, her long light brown hair flowing softly down to the base of her back, her green ribbon in her hair.

Turning from her work when she heard the voice she quickly went to see who it was, going out the double doors of the library and going the short distance to the entrance hall to find the young man looking around.

Blinking the young maid quickly realized who he was, the Duchess having informed her and the other staff about the new student who would be coming to live at the manor as a live-in student, many had been reluctant about the fact given his gender, mainly from the problems the last male student they had kept as a live-in had caused, but he had fallen within the new age criteria for the male students so he had been accepted, whether or not he turned out like the last was yet to be seen.

"Hello, I assume you are Chiharu Akiyama, our new live-in student" she asked as she approached the young man, "my name is Helen Carter, I'm a maid here at La Fay manor and servant of her grace the Duchess La Fay, we were expecting you some time ago" she said keeping herself neutral towards the young man.

Chiharu heard the double doors open and turned to where the sound came from. It seemed like someone was home after all. The young silver haired boy was rather surprised when he saw a teenage girl in a maid's dress walk over, most certainly not what he had expected.

"Uh, yeah, that's me.." he replied before the maid continued. He wasn't really paying attention, as he found it difficult to keep focused at the moment, probably due to his lack of sleep.

"Right, nice to meet you, and who's this Duchess La Fay exactly?" he asked, completely in the blue about this place. He hadn't gotten any information about the place from Mrs. Grey, all he knew was that he was going to live at a new school. He didn't even know what subjects he was going to have, if he would share a room with someone or where it was located. Despite the looks of it, Chiharu was actually a bit nervous and scared, being put into a new home and school out of the blue like this.

So far, the silverhead found La Fay manor to be a rather strange place, at least in terms of what he's used to. He had never in his life seen a maid before, yet alone such a fancy building. Although Chiharu did indeed try to come off as a nice person, it was quite difficult considering the fact that he was sent there against his will.

Helen blinked hearing that shocked for a moment before correcting herself.

"Oh, weren't you told before coming," Helen asked before shaking her head, "well you are currently in La Fay manor, where Duchess La Fay is the main professor she will be taking you for most of your classes here, you could think of her as the headmistress in a way" she explained, "she is also my adoptive mother, and has been for the past three years" she explained clearly with a smile before turning.

"now you can leave your luggage there, for now, I believe her Grace would like to be informed of your arrival and meet you, she is in her office at the moment I do believe so please follow me" Helen started back the way she came, "I do believe she will want to know why you are later than we expected you to be, you were expected to be here some time ago"

"I see, that's cool." he said as he left his luggage. He didn't exactly feel like he fit in here, he was wearing some trousers and a dark red hoodie. In comparison, he pretty much looked homeless compared to Helen.

Chiharu just stood there and listened in on what Helen had to say, and was rather surprised about the way she talked. She was so formal, and even referred to her adoptive mother has 'her Grace', this was certainly a whole lot different from the orphanage. He followed Helen, looking around while doing so. It was gonna take some time to memorize all these rooms, hallways and such. To say the least; Chiharu wasn't looking forward to navigating his way through this giant place for the first couple of days.

"Was I that late?.." he asked a bit confused and looked down at his watch. In truth, he wasn't sure when exactly he was supposed to arrive, but guessed it was around 8:30AM. For all he knew, it could've been 8AM. They soon arrived at La Fey's office, after looking over at Helen, it seemed like she wanted him to enter, and so he did.

"Uh hello.. My name's Chiharu Akiyama, I heard you wanted to see me?.." he said as the door closed behind him.

Sitting behind her large desk sat the Lady of the manor, Duchess Christina La Fay, she was a young woman in her early twenties She had a slim figure with a modest bust hidden behind a light grey short sleeves blouse, and a loose darker grey ankle-length dress, she had long silky smooth silver hair with white highlights that flowed over her shoulder and down her back, which matched well with her smooth unblemished complexion. Around her neck sat a decretive neck collar separate from her blouse with a small set of three purple roses with a green ribbon behind them, which matched her violet eyes completing her appearance.

hearing the door open Christina looked up from her paperwork with narrowed eyes at the sudden interruption, seeing the young boy enter her office without even the curtsy of knocking.

"I see," Christina spoke her voice stern, "so you are the young man who was supposed to arrive at eight this morning" she said as she stood up from behind her desk, "Yes I believe I would like to speak with you, but first I will introduce myself, I am Duchess Christina La Fay, headmistress, and Head professor of this Manor, now you will explain to me why you have turned up to my manor forty minutes later, and they why you saw fit to enter into my office rudely, without knocking and asking permission to enter, as one does when in another person's home or office"

Chiharu was a bit surprised to see someone as young as her have silver hair, just like himself. At least she looked a whole lot nicer than Mrs. Grey, but his opinion quickly changed as she spoke to him in a stern tone, asking as to why he was late and how he had the audacity to enter her office without even knocking.

"Oh uh.. I honestly didn't know when to arrive, I thought it was 8:30.." Chiharu replied a bit nervous, his usual tough self was completely gone. This new place and new situation was quite scary, in addition to already feeling like the staff didn't particularly like him. Which wasn't anything new by any means. He was quite used to it by now, and sort of expected it as well.

"I just thought that.. I mean, Helen said you were expecting me, so I just.." he said, not really sure how to reply as he had never thought of it as rude before. He had never been taught these formal ways of doing things before, not in school and certainly not by Mrs. Grey, who was just as bad as him, if not worse.

"My bad entirely, won't happen again" he quickly added, trying to sound as formal as the others, but definitely had trouble doing so. He took a step forward and stood a few feet away from Christina's desk. He took a quick look around her office, which was just as fancy as every other part of the building.

Christina watched the boy with narrowed eyes as she measured him up physically and characteristically, as she judged just how to proceed, though she already had a good idea.

"I see, then did you do everything in your power to arrive here for that time?" she asked keeping her eyes on him

"never the less, one should never assume, there is being rude and then there is a mistake, you clearly didn't know so it is simple, do not let it happen again, I will overlook it this once but not a second time, I believe I will be speaking with your matron about the possibility of enrolling you in our social lessons course, it would seem you are in need of refining in that area" she said putting her arms behind her back as she walked around her desk to its front

ChrisWk October 12th, 2017 10:19 PM

"Uh, y-yes, I mean.. Mrs. Grey drove me here, so it wasn't really under my control.." he quickly replied, with nervousness filling his voice. He felt like leaving out the part that he was pulled out of bed and was 15min late because of that, as he figured it probably wouldn't leave the best first impression.

"Okay, I promise I'll try to remember not to do it again.." Chiharu said as he listened in on what she had to say. He didn't even know what matron meant, or what the social lessons course was, but quite frankly didn't care.

"Speaking of classes, which am I attending?.." he asked as Christina stood up. Chiharu never in his life thought someone he had never met, and who looked so kind, could be so intimidating. Mrs. Grey was nothing in comparison, she was maybe mean and rude, but she wasn't scary. Christina on the other hand, wasn't mean or rude, but she was definitely a whole lot scarier.

Clearing her throat Christina nodded, "Your classes begin tomorrow, it is customary at the manor to allow all new students to have one day to explore the manor and the grounds, but with a guide to help you find your way," she explained, "but before you can do that, we still have mattered to discuss here, your tone before leads me to believe there's more to your late arrival than you have told me" she stated her tone growing harder.

"I do not like lairs young man, even those who lie by omission, you will tell me the truth to why you were late, is it my duty as headmistress to see all students are disciplined for their actions, a fact your matron was quite happy about, and clearly I can see why, by your attitude and lack of structure, now answer my question, why were you really late?"
