Good News and Bad News
 

Well as the titles says I have good news and bad news for everyone...

First the bad:
The gallery and downloads area will not accept any new files for a couple of days
We will experience 6-24 hours of downtime in a couple of days

Now the good (and the reason for the bad):
As AnimeOTK has reached the limit of its current host the time has come to move on. I have ordered us a dedicated server (Only our site will be on this server so no more high load issues) with the following spec:

• Processor: AMD Opteron 170 Dual Core
• Ram: 2GB DDRI 400
• Disk: 250GB SATA
• Uplink Port: 1 Gigabit
• Bandwith: 2TB

I am currently downloading everything from this server ready to re-upload to the new server so we cannot accept any new entries. Once everything is uploaded to the new server and has been tested we will be ready to move. It will take approximately 6-24 for the new name servers to resolve so please expect some downtime

we are current wrestling with everything at the moment lol but its looking sweet ^_^ looking forward to giving this place a new lease of life :)

I was almost going mad before I've read this.
I 've found a great picture and then I cannot find the upload button...
Quite frustrating I can tell you.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause to users, but the benefits of a new server far outweigh anything else ;)

indeed, we will most likely send out a mass PM to all members once uploads have been activated again :p dont know who will send it tho however once we have transfered the DBs over we will put a place holder of sorts here while DNS resolves to the new server.

Not that I'm complaining, but I felt like an idiot for being unable to locate a button :)
Maybe next time instead of removing the button, maybe you should change the function to an error message that tells what's up (but if thats too much trouble than just forget I ever said something )
