SU - Lapis, Garnet and the rest [for charles wilbourn]
 

Peridot was pouting.

To be more precise, she was hiding in a cave not far from the temple. Good thing there were many old sea caves for her to hide. She had run away and just refused to come out anytime soon.

She knew they would find her, probably because of Garnet’s future vision – that didn’t mean she had to like it. Was it her fault Earth technology was so weird? No. Was it her fault that thing she had been tinkering with exploded and destroyed a few km of land? Maybe.

She wouldn’t come out nor would she apologize!

Garnet was the Leader of the Gems, and she wanted to know all the activities of all the Gems, and their whereabouts, and she noticed just a while after the "juvenile" Perodoy had run away, a naughty child running awaqy from punishment, that Perifot WAS missing.

"Where is Peridot?" Garnet after she noted the :girl's" absence, after a day; Lapis Kazuli, Peridot's bunk mate in the barn, closest to her..

Lspis was indifferent. "I don't know," she said simply. She lied and said, "I haven't even known she was gone!"

Well, garnet was annoyed at Lapis' response. "You're supposed to keep an eye on her!--Well, a group of us is going to find her and bring her bak! Lapis, YOU'tr first and foremost! I'll go too. Maybe I can use my future vision to find her. YOU'RE job is to talk her out of, whever she is!. . . . Pearl, you're coming yoo. I will need your motherliness!"

"Yes, ma'am," Pearl responded. Steven and Amethyst, I need you to stay here and hold down the fort while we are gone!"

"Whatever you say, Garnet!" Steven said, and amethst nodded her head.

Suddenly Lapis said, in a bored, lazy tone, "Do you rea;;y meed me?"

Garney the diplomat kept her temper and said, "Besides Steven you're Peridot's best friend, and I need your help to get her to come home with me."
Lapis rose from her reclining position in the Gem's home and got on her bare feet. "You're the boss, Garnet!"

Soon Garnet, Pearl and out the door, beginning their search for Peridot, afraid of some kind of severe reprinand for her mistakes, hiding in a cave which she though was pimpentrable. . . .

Peridot was still hiding inside the cave, hoping they wouldn't find her. But of course Garnet's future vision had already told the group where to look for her.

When they had found the right cave, Garnet ordered Lapis to get in bring Peridot back. "Lapis, you'll get her out of there. Now!" She ordered. "Peridot is in trouble and I'd like to get this over with!"

Lapis sighed with boredom and exasperation. "OK," She said simply, and reached Perodot's Hiding cave. When she sptted her Lapis said, "C'mon, kid. Let's go. This is really tedius for me--why should I haul your butt out of here? But it's dangerous, and if you don't come willingly I carry you out, butt first!"

"No!" The stubborn little gem exclaimed. "Just leave me alone, I don't want to see any of you! And don't even try to carry me outside! I-I have a weapon!!" She had picked up a small stone, it didn't look very threateningly but Peridot didn't care. She just wanted to be left alone now, though she didn't behave like a mature gem. Well, she was a young gem, a kid-gem, after all.

Once more Lapis showed her exasperation, but this time accompanied by frustration. Still, Lapis was fond of Little Perodot so she tried to approach the girl-Gem with her arms stretched out affectionately. "Peri," Lapis said, "Won't you please come with me? You know I'm your best friend and of course I mean no harm to you, and neither do I. It's dangerous in here, Perodot, and I don't know what I would do were I to lose you! Besides, the Gems and I NEED you at home, working! I can't do the stuff you do! Come into my arms, little one. I won't carry you. I'l escort you with my arm around you! Only please, come with me! You know the Gems need to be united!"

As she spoke Lapis' initial indifference changed into genuine concern, and she used all the persuasive powers she could in the short space of time she spoke. She hoped Perodot would fall into her arms, having dropped the rock. Now she had to wait.

Peridot looked at the older gem warily. Lapis sounded nice and caring and while she did care a lot about her blue roommate, she was being suspiciously sweet right now. Oh well, Peridot was convinced, she liked it when someone told her she was needed.
"O-ok..." She fell into Lapis' arms and blushed a little bit. "Escort me outside..."

Lapis embraced her little friend and said, "You won't regret this. I'll protect you as best I can." Lapis supported Peridot around the waist and the two of them emerged.

Outside Garnet nodded at the two gems. She folded her arms in front of her chest and looked first at Peridot, then at Lapis.

"Peridot, you're in trouble." She said simply and the little gem gulped nervously. "You ran away after doing something you were forbidden, so there will be consequences. Lapis, I want you to take care of her. Discipline her."

While Peridot stood at semi-attention before Garnet, Lapis had resumed her position, sitting on a flat rock, her chin resting somewhat lazily, indifferently on her hands, her legs crossed. Lapis, called upon to punish Peridot, knew that she would appear a liar to Peridot, to whom she had indicated no harm would befall her. But seeing as how she was the one nominated to "take care" of Peridot, and considering , as she thought, just what form this punishment would be, she looked at Peridot, who rather frightfully returned her gaze, Lapis didn't say anything. She merely signalled the youth to approach her, and once she had she uncrossed her legs and patted her lap, knowing Peridot would no exactly what she mean.

"Peridot," Lapis explained as the younger gem fell over Lapis' knees, "You've given us concern and worry for your disappearance into the caves, places where you could have been hurt or worse. Now, it's your turn to feel if only a little of the pain we felt."

So Lapis began slapping the girl on the bottom; but she did not bother to even lower her pants, leaving her panties on. On top of this, Lapis resumed a rather boring air, not really caring to teach her friend a lesson, swatting her only moderately as she was, Peridot's pants still on.
