Welcome to AOTK's 1st spanking game jam!

Important Info:

Hello everyone, my name is Godspeak. I am planning on holding a spanking game jam on the week of April 30th - May 6th. The only parameter is that the game you create must be about or contain spanking somehow and must follow the theme that will be announced on the first day of the jam at 12:00 AM GMT/UTC. If you can reasonably argue that what you made exemplifies the theme, it will be accepted. Please feel free to get creative and twist it however you want! You can use any program that you like, as long as the final product is a game. Collaborations are acceptable, as long as the person making the thread credits the other members of the team appropriately.

Any game that you wish to enter should have [ GAME JAM ] as the tag in front of the thread. At 11:59 PM GMT/UTC, submissions will close and any thread posted after that time will not be considered. At that point, judging will begin and a winner will be selected. This winner will receive exclusive bragging rights (at least until the next jam), and will have their game featured in this forum post as well as on my Patreon. Although there is no way to enforce this aside from the theme being announced when the jam starts, please DO NOT submit anything you have previously worked on before the jam time. This makes it more fun for everyone!

Jam Concluded!

Theme: Paperwork

Some Options For Programs To Use:

Twine:
This is a good option for newbies to game making, it's just text and a little bit of Javascript if you wanna get fancy. Many tutorials exist to get you up and running as well and you can even include images! Free.

RPG Maker:
Many games on this forum use this tool, and a lot of people are familiar with how to use it. There are a myriad of tutorials for this, including some that I made specifically for spanking games! Not free.

Game Maker:
This one is a little more complicated, but is probably still within the possibility of use if you look at tutorials. Free.

Unity:
If you're feeling brave, Unity is also a viable option. It is the only one on this list that you can create 3D games with, but it may be a little much unless you already know how to program. Free.

TADS:
This is a program for creating text adventures like ZORK! It requires a degree of programming experience to use, but the possibilities are pretty open for what you can do with it. Free.

Inform 7:
Inform 7 is similar to TADS in that it creates text adventures like ZORK, but the programming language that you use is plain English sentences. e.g. "The Living Room is a room." will create a room called The Living Room. Free.

ADRIFT:
This is another text adventure creator, but this one works with a gui and does not require very much programming knowledge, if any. Free.

Ren'Py:
Ren'Py is designed for making visual novels. Many popular visual novels that you've heard of were made with this program, including Doki-Doki Literature Club! Art would be a necessity for this, as well as a degree of programming experience. Free.

This thread is the official discussion thread for this project! If you wish to share ideas or resources, here is where to do it!

I was gonna go ahead and do the judging actually, since that will be easier to coordinate. There will be a poll during judging for audience choice though!

Oooooh, great! Can't wait to play em'! ^_^

You should probably mention TADS
and Inform as well.

Both languages make it really easy to build Zork style adventure games.
TADS is a bit more "programmy" using a C-style syntax, while Inform's syntax
reads a *lot* like regular English (it *is* still a programming language,
though).

I actually wrote the first (unreleased) version of Potion Wars in Inform,
before moving over to Python, because I wanted to do things that Inform
didn't provide great support for.

Great! I'll go ahead and add those.

I have an idea for someone, if it is possible I mean :)
How about the idea of a spanking fighting game where the roster has the character's finishers being different ways as to how to give a spanking. And the way to win is that when the opponent's health bar is empty, the character's bottom is red. lol

All times are GMT. The time now is 04:00 PM.
