Ayano Keiko, or Silica by her system name couldn't believe the horrible fate she just landed herself in. She was overjoyed this morning when the game Sword Art Online was in her hands and she had spent the majority of the day getting ready and finally, the moment came when she slips her nerve gear on top of her head and she enters the game. However, in only one hour all the joy and excitement she had quickly turned to terror as the game's creator, Akihiko Kayaba had turned the fun VRMMORPG into a death game. All around her she only saw the faces of despair and anger of many of the players which quickly began to get to her as she ran out of the town with tears in her eyes.

(I thought I was supposed to play the guardian?)

the news was like a Hammer to the gut, for Ashley Williams, an American exchange student in Japan. had managed to get her hands on both a NERVE Gear, and the game Sword Art Online. the 17 year old girl had been grateful when her Exchange parents got her the equipment as a reward for graduating. well she'd graduate in Japan. it was still a big deal.

Now... as she stepped out of the Town of Beginnings, she tried to clear her thoughts. she had to think clearly. at this point, she had to focus. What DID she know? SAO was now a death game. as an ex beta tester. she was at a small advantage, but that wouldn't matter. she'd only made it to Floor 23 in the Beta. now, with little more then basic equipment, she knew that speed was going to be key. when she spotted someone smaller leaving the safe zones of the Town of Beginnings, she realized something was wrong. and with a hand on her sword, she started searching for the girl. She was a Beta Tester. if she could save someone then she needed to try.

After all the running Silica came to an stop to catch her breath and she tries to think of someway to get out of this prison and back home only for thoughts to be interrupted by a snarl. She looks up and sees a pack of wolf-like creatures with their eyes locked on her. "No..." Dread filled her body as the words that Akihiko Kayaba said in the town square echos in her mind. She was so petrified of that she struggles to pull her weapon out to defend herself as wolves charges at her. It bites her arm as she was knocked backwards and to the ground.

She took a quick glance towards her health bar noticing it took a significant amount of her health but the bar was still green. The wolves then ready themselves to pounce once again. The only thing her body would allow her to do is simply puts her hands up in defense.

Ashley. or Lupas Ingas. which was the Latin word for Wolf Sprit, already had her sword out as she heard a yell! Spotting the girl she ran forward and using a basic sword skill. dropped the first Wolf with one hit, the remaining 3 turned at her, two jumped at her, to which she rolled away from then, coming up in a low crouch on her feet, her blade glowed and she moved like a flash of lightning. the wolves vanished in a flash. slowly Ashley lowered her sword. and looked at the small girl next to her.
(I had to think of a good screen name. something that was unique because my normal user names wouldn't make any sense. I figured using my sprit animal and something you'd have to look up to know what it means was a good thing. complex, but Lu would probably be a very common screen nickname)

The sounds of a sword swinging and sounds of the wolves being defeated was the only things she heard as she eventually lowers her arms to see A older girl above her sheathing her sword looking at her. "Umm...thank you for saving me." She said getting back to her feet and patting her clothes from dust. She then inspected the area one of the wolves bit her.

As the girl got up, Ashley looked up, lowering her blade and carefully replaced the sword in her sheath. "What were you doing outside the town!?" she asked looking concerned.

Silica finished dusting herself off when she heard the question from the older woman. "I just trying to find some way to get out of this game." Silica explained to her.

"That's not what it looked like to me! why are you out here alone?" Ashley demanded.

"It not like I have anyone to party with. I just started about an hour and was looking at all of the shops and sights when that guy made the announcement. I didn't have time to find to find anyone who wanted to party." She explained.

"but leaving town is dangerous. especially by yourself." Ashley said.
