Its was three in the afternoon, where Mary Alan was just finsihing her lastest chapter of her book series. Mary worked at home as a writer which allows her to stend time with her only child and daugter after her husband died when her daughter was a tot. The twelve year old Maria Alan wearing a black short sleeve shirt, a beige knee length skirt and white and white socks and shoes with the shoes having silver highlights was walking down the sidewalk with a note from her teacher. She had gotten in trouble at school for constantly disturbing classroom. Maria finally reaches home and opens the door. "Mom? I'm home." She called out across the house.

"Hey, sweetie." Mary called as she walk over and hug her not noicing the note yet. "How was school, love?"

Maria decided to try a trick one of her friends used to get their parents to sign a note from their teacher. To hide it under another piece of paper that needs a parents signature as well. "Um...It was fine." Maria answers hugging her mother back. "Hey Mom, can you sign this paper from school? It's a permission slip that allows kids to be in media assignments so I can appear on newscast and stuff." Maria said hiding the actual note and offering her mother a pen.

"Oh sure. First let me read what its about." Mary said as she move the paper that is covering it.

"Wait no. Mom don't look." Maria tries to stop her mother from moving the paper but it was too late as Maria's eyes were now on her teacher's note to her and the dread begins to fill her body.

After a quick read she glared down sternly. "Alright explane yourself." She said with crossed arms and a tapping foot that always intimidates maria.

Maria avoided her mother's glare. "During class, the teacher was boring us so I just wanted to back the class more lively so I told a couple of jokes." She defended herself hoping the note didn't explain how vulgar her jokes were.

"You know you cant do that during class and look to this note they are not ones you use for your age. Where did you learn all this?" Mary scolded while making her look at her in the eye gently with her hand to her chin.

"From some of the older girl at lunch when I was washing up from eating. It seems funny when they said it so I thought it could be funny in class." Maria explained as now she couldn't break eye contact with her mother.
