Pokemon: Pike Place Continued
It had been a few months since the start of the new school year, and Lucy was relieved they'd be taking their December break in a few days. The girls were a handful, as always. Things were still crazy sometimes, but she and Daisy had long since learned to accept the craziness, roll with it, and even enjoy moments of it. Days were never boring, and tended to fly by in the blink of an eye. Now, with Christmas in a few weeks, Lucy could scarcely believe where the time had gone.
|
"Leaf! Come here, sweet." May brought her a sweater. "I just finished knitting this dark green sweater for you. Daisy helped. It goes well with the color of your eyes. And Serena made mittens."
Rosa invited herself into Lucy's study. "Lucy, is it STILL too early in the year to go carolling?" |
Leaf slipped the sweater over her body, but it got stuck at her head. The hole was too small. She tried to take it off, but it clung fast to her because of the friction of her clothes. "...I'm trapped."
"I should say so," Lucy said. "Christmas isn't for another few weeks." Not to mention she wanted no part of caroling whatsoever. |
Laughing, Daisy came in to tug the sweater off of the little girl while a chagrined May watched.
"It's ok, May; we can fix this. But always remember, when you're sewing for kids, you have to account for how huge their heads are. RIGHT, MISTY?!" |
"Did Daisy ever tell you about the time when she was six, where she hoarded her gummy vitamins for weeks, brought them into school and sold them?" Misty responded, loud enough for the whole house to hear. "They got confiscated. You can imagine our parents were pretty happy about that."
|
"Of course they were," Daisy yelled to the world. "Though not half as happy as they were when Misty took soda can weapons to preschool and dueled on the playground till she gave some kid a gash on the cheek. Or as happy as they were when she smuggled bugs to school and opened up a 'butcher's shop,' trying to sell the 'meat.' "
|
"When Daisy and Violet were little, they would sometimes pretend to be teeth. They apparently lived in the mouth of a boy called Johnny, and they'd wrap a thick blanket around their legs to represent gums. They'd shout in excitement when Johnny would brush his teeth or drink milk, and scream in horror when he ate chocolate or other sugary foods."
"You were certainly an interesting child, darling..." Lucy couldn't resist opining. |
The girls all gathered and listened nosily to this conversation.
"Yes, I was, Hun. Though not as interesting as Misty, who flooded hslf the house when she was three just because she got bored." |
"Yes, but I expect these stories from Misty. They're all slightly evil. Yours are chaotic and bizarre."
|
"i can't believe the way I'm being treated my my OWN wife. I know exactly what you're getting for Christmas."
