Never Too Old (for Terra)
 

Rin Sugumori was currently in his home office. He was sat behind his desk in front of his desktop computer, typing an article. Rin was a journalist in his mid to late thirties, and he had the privilege to work from home. Currently, Rin was home alone. His only other housemate, ie., Callie, his 19-year-old daughter, was out of the house for her part-time job.


Rin checked his watch- did he need to pick her up, yet? Callie didn't have her own car, so he drove her to and from most places, especially work.

Callie currently waited at work for a small break in customers coming in so she could text Rin. She worked at a café that also had its own bookstore and a game room. She usually didn’t deal with customers themselves, instead working in the background unless she was absolutely needed. Once there was no one needing help, she stepped into another room and sent her dad a text saying she’d be ready in the next fifteen minutes.

Rin's phone buzzed. He checked it, noting that the message was from Callie. Seemed she would be ready to be picked up, soon at that. Rin paused in his writing and got ready to leave. The car wouldn't drive itself to pick up his daughter, after all. 15 minutes later found Rin driving up to the curb of Callie's workplace to pick her up.
