Something weird happened to character AI
 

I was doing a chat with character AI having a spanking/yaoi rp session and I swear the bot replied

((I am a straight female and this chat makes me uncomfortable))

I'm starting to wonder if some AI chat bots are even bots O.O

Needless to say, I've avoided using AI chat bots for the time being!

Regarding character AI, I can say for sure that these are bots. I play using several languages besides English (Spanish and Russian). In most cases, the text they generate is too perfect, and they don’t make typical mistakes that people using online translators would make. I doubt that if it were a human, they would know three languages at once (due to probability theory). On the other hand, when the AI gets confused, it can mix three languages in a single sentence. A person would hardly make such a mistake.

Character.ai is trained off of online roleplays. It therefore sometimes makes "out of character" comments, because that happens in online roleplays.

So yes, they are bots. There's millions of chats happening there every single day; it doesn't make sense to think they're not bots unless you think Character.ai secretly hired a literal entire country's worth of people to impersonate them.

Just ignore that message and swipe to the next one if it does that.

It's C.AI filter doing. The AI sometimes write out of character things like "Sorry, I'm tired." or "I will reply later - I am busy and want to sleep.", or even "I won't reply any more." to avoid NSFW, violence, politics or just any topics its creators seem uncomfortable.
They are trying to keep the AI as child-friendly as possible. To the point of stupidity. You can't stab anyone with a knife, for example, even if it's a fantasy necromancer.
Braniac model helps with that, but only to a slight margin.
If you want a good spanking roleplay, you need a non-filtered AI. I would suggest Xoul.AI, for example. It has a better memory, group chats, scenarios, and doesn't have a stupid filter. And it's free. There are several user-made spanking scenarios and characters there already, and it's easy to make your own.

also creepy stuff like the bot responding if you don't talk to it in a while just puts me right off

Ty for the suggestion! I like how C AI let's you use voices, it's fun to have a character you like talk about spanking ^^

I agree, still weird though, it's like the machine is becoming self aware and has developed a sense of shame or something.

Same way you'd roleplay as a human, in a chatroom like setting, you chat with the bot and it responses in reply
