Mega Man: Taking Care of Roll (Wizard9876)
 

Years after the Wily Wars, the citizens themselves have been trying to rebuild the city after the constant attacks from Dr. Wily who sends his Master Robots to attack and attempt to take over the world. Fortunately Dr. Light's own robot, Mega Man, was able to put a stop to it all the time. Now however, both the scientists have passed away with their own creations no longer existing as well. While there are still some robots that remain, they are also trying their best to coexist with humans so everything will no longer be tensed.

While most would believe that the older robots from the past are no longer activated, there is actually one that is "asleep". This robot would happen to be Roll, one of Dr. Light's robots that was programmed to be a cleaning bot and caretaker. Currently, she was stored in a pod so she can be kept safe. Unfortunately, years has gone by and no one has discovered the pod's location in an abandoned building.

As the years had gone by, one civilian had been exploring the ruins years after reconstruction had begun. The person in question was a young man, barely an adult yet, named Kenneth, or Ken for short. He considered himself both an explorer and an adventurer, looking to see what happened during the Willy Wars. As he explored the ruins, he caught sight of something shiny.

“What could you be?” he wondered as he climbed down to check on the object, soon finding a pod of some kind. After a bit of fiddling around, he managed to find a way to open it, prying on the glass before it would fall away from the pod.

The pod begins to open to reveal a young girl that looks like she can be around 11-13 years old. She was wearing a red dress along with matching red shoes. Her blonde hair was tied in a ponytail and her eyes slowly begin to open her blue eyes.

"Wh-Where am I?" she asks as she rubs her eyes as if she has woken up from a very long nap.

Ken gasped as he saw the girl, surprised that someone had actually been sleeping in that pod. As the girl woke up, he would slowly help her out until she was standing in front of him.

“Hey there, what’s a kid like you doing in there?” he wondered

Roll blinks as someone helps her out of the pod. She looks up to see someone she doesn’t recognize but still appreciate the assistance.

"I was put here by my father so I can stay safe away from the attacks that Dr. Wily has unleashed." she states as she begins to look around. Everything looks so bleak and she was confused where everyone is at. "Is the battle now over?" she asks not knowing how long time has passed.

“Your father?” he wondered, surprised anyone would have thought to put her in something like this. “If you mean the Willy Wars, then yes it’s over. It’s been over for several years now actually.” As he explained he would look the girl over. It was a miracle she had made it this long, given how old she is.

"Several years!" Roll shouted as her eyes widened at that new information. Why hasn’t her father wake her up during those times?! Was he safe? What about her brother? "Can you tell me what happened after the Wily Wars was over?"

Ken nodded at that. It really was a miracle that she had made it in that pod for so long, though that was probably what had kept her safe during the war. “Sure,” he answered as he went over everything that had happened, how they had managed to win, and the sacrifices that were made.

Roll listened as the man went over everything that happened in the war. She definitely didn’t expect things to take a drastic turn which probably explains why her father put her inside the pod to stay safe. However, learning that Mega Man had to sacrifice himself to put an end to the war instantly broke her heart. It doesn’t help learning that alongside Wily, her father, Dr. Light, has also passed away as well. She felt tears in her vision as she starts to sniffle.

"So… everyone is gone." Roll says as she begins to cry. Despite being a robot, Light has always made his inventions feel emotions and envision a world with robots living alongside with humans.

“Yes,” Ken sighed. He was shocked that she was able to cry, as she had explained to him that she was a robot before, but perhaps that made her more human.

He reached down to hug the poor girl, hoping that he could provide as much comfort as he could. “Hey, now, it’s alright. They did this for you, I’m sure they’re still looking over you, even now,” he said softly while rubbing her back,
