The Sweet Three
The sky was growing violet over the tops of warbler trees as three figures emerged from the Kikumei shrine. A trio of sweet young girls, each clad in short dress kimonos in which had long ribbon tails at the back. On their forehead each had a small unicorn's horn of different tone and colour.
The first girl, a young beauty with long black tresses and striking dark eyes had a red horn, the second, a cute redhead with long, thick hair in ringlets and curls, eyes of copper, had a yellow horn, whilst the last, a sweet girl with a short blue bob, large aqua eyes and rosy cheeks had a silver horn.
They were the Sweetie Guardians. A peculiar name, it's true.
The three young ladies defended justice, and the peace of their world and little village, from the oni, demons, ogres and ill-will that were borne from the enchanted forest where they lived.
The Sweet Three: Pudding (Kei), Crumpet (Akane), and Butter (Hitomi).
That wasn't to say that they existed together in complete harmony, of course...
"You're such a crybaby, Pudding!" a girl with long silky black hair barked at the curly-haired one, hand on a dainty hip, "Dummy! You slow us down! If you hadn't been wailing back there I'd have finished it and we'd be back home right now!"
"Bu-but there was an icky frog a-and he scared me!" the redhead meowled in response, shaking her white pole-staff at the other girl, pouting hotly, "Just lemme alone, Crumpet!"
"Pudding-chan, Crumpet-chan, w-w-we should be quiet..." the one with short blue hair sighed, hands clasped before her, her own costume had an ochre theme - her short dress ribbons were like waves of melted gold in the evening. She looked up, worried that her friends would fall out... again, "We're nearly home, see? Everything's going to be fine!"
"You don't know my dad, Butter-chan!" The red-haired girl moaned, tearing away from her glare with Crumpet, however, the other girl simply smirked and laughed.
"Hmph! I do hope he catches you, Pudding. After the mess you caused tonight, you deserve it..." she flicked her luxurious tresses, and they flowed like silk.
"Why you---!!"
Butter sighed as her two comrades bickered yet again. The sun had fallen behind the trees in the forest, and it looked like it was getting late. Crumpet-chan lived on a beautiful manor at the head of the village, and they would reach that in minutes. Her own family's little cottage was just at the bottom of that hill, and Pudding-chan lived on the village farm with her father - that was the last stop. Her slender, stocking-clad legs shivered. She just hoped she had enough time to write up her homework before bed...
