As Meg headed back to her room, to do so, she had to pass the small space where she remembered Christine had kept the small alter in memory of her father. When she checked the room again, it was still there, along with the garrote where Christine had once mentioned the Angel of Music spoke to her through.

Well... it wasn't improper for her to be in here... And perhaps she could speak with him again. Carefully sitting on her legs, to not agitate her bottom, Meg placed herself by the garrote. (Which, not to her knowledge, was only a few yards above the Phantom's lair and he could open. He couldn't slip through it himself, but someone thin and small like Meg, with urging, could crawl through.)

She also wasn't aware when she started singing softly. "I remember there was mist.... Swirling mist upon a fast, glassy lake... There were candles all around, and on the lake, there was a boat.... And in the boat, there was a man...." Her voice was not as high pitched as Christine's, but she hit the notes quite well anyway.
