Ethan's apology this time round was a little more sincere, and Brandt was seriously considering stopping the punishment after that, but there was something telling him that there was more that needed to be impressed upon his wayward partner. There was something - something deep down - inside of Ethan that William felt he needed to break. Maybe he was looking for tears, maybe he was looking for signs of anguish, or maybe he was looking for a completely different side to Ethan Hunt, a side that only he could see and feel close to. Not that William would actually go that far to strip Ethan of all dignity, pride and modesty in order to catch even a glimpse of a side of him (that may or may not even exist). Brandt decided in the end that it was best to continue with the punishment, looking for some small signs of anguish and absolute remorse.
"Good Ethan, but I still don't feel that you are very sorry." William answered at last, looking down to meet his lover's eyes and he felt his stomach flip looking in to those distressed windows. Damn it. Don't look at me like that. He mused to himself, forcing his gaze from those captivating orbs to the red skin of his well spanked bottom. He felt that he would have just ended all if he spent another second looking in to those eyes. They were so hypnotizing.
The man then steeled himself, raising the ruler again and this time, bringing it hard and very, very fast over the top of his thighs, creating angry red stripes of all directions to scald the flesh. "Don't you get how stupid this was? I know you said you're sorry. But you've given me no reason to think this wont happen again." he sounded genuinely worried at that point, sounding like his old self, the man Ethan was very familiar with. "Don't you give a crap that I'd be devastated if anything happened to you? You're important to me, and if I have to spank you until you don't have a butt left, just to keep you safe - then I will!" while he went on to scold, hoping and praying that Ethan would understand where he was coming from, he brought the ruler back to lash the sore places on his upturned backside.
He was glad Ethan couldn't see him now, because his soft eyes had glazed over in a few tears - tears that he refused to let fall. The thought of losing Ethan in any shape or form was just too much to take in.
