Katie stretched out on her bed, her doll in one hand, as she read a book. She was supposed to clean the room, but she didn't think it really mattered much. She was all alone anyway. She had no one, except Tessie (the doll).
The lady at the desk was actually one of the lead workers for the home. Her name was Jenna.
"Hi, I'm Jenna. Nice to meet you."
She shook his hand and had him show her his ID.
"Let me show you to her room."
She led him up there.
"Katie? Someone is here to see you."
Katie glanced back then went back to her book. Jenna sighed.
"Katie! We don't ignore people."
