James looked at his mother one last time as Joan put him in the corner. She guided him into exactly the spot she wanted him with her hand on his bottom. She could still feel a bit of the heat there. "Now eyes in the corner, James. Your mommy or I will tell you when it's time to get out. No talking and no looking around. Actually, Joan was sure such a spanking right in the midst of all her friends would be the hit of the party. Then all of them would begin to talk about how they had spanked their little ones growing up with each trying to top the previous with how strict they'd been.
Guest continued to arrive, coming through the house to the back yard escorted by Sally. Joan had chosen James' spot on the porch where she and Karen could keep an eye on the boy. But it had also been chosen where the arriving guest couldn't help but be greeted by his little bare and obviously spanked bottom. Though the expression "It takes a village to raise a child" wasn't in vogue yet, Joan was familiar with the concept. Joan knew if a little boy thought his misbehavior and punishment would be witnessed by many people, it would lead to much improved behavior to avoid any future spankings.
James' display engendered many comments by the ladies passing. "I see somebody's been a naughty boy." "Well somebody certainly knows how to take care of misbehavior." Sally would briefly explain that James had been switched by his mother.
