Maybe Crowley had a point with that. Ok, the demon was absolutely right in his assessment of Sam’s existence. Even as a child Sam Winchester had lived just on the edge of a new and fantastic breakdown. Having to always be strong while feeling a complete void within himself the youngest of the Winchester clan couldn’t even be sure what happiness was. That line of thought made Lucifer come back stronger. The flickering image of his personal hell became slightly more solid and his taunting face now rested just below Sam’s tear brimmed eyes.
“Just tell the usurper no.” the true king of demons encouraged, “tell Crowley that I’ve disappeared and he’ll go away.” Lucifer grinned sadly, “then I’ll make it all better.”
More lies from the fallen angel. Just like when they were in the pit. Lucifer seemed to always want Sam dependant on him. It was classic behavior of an abusive relationship. Isolate and confused the victim until they need their abuser for everything. Swallowing against the lump in his throat Sam shook his head softly. After a few shuttering breathes the hunter felt able to communicate vocally. “Nn...no. He’s still here.” Sam confirmed tensing against the restrains holding his arms. If he had that freedom back Sam figured he might be able to access some point of comfort and relieve the uncertainty he was drowning in.
