There once was a time when the world was prosperous and happy. Where noble men and women lived in the absolute highest of luxury, and even the poorest of citizens lived secure with the occasional comfort. But those days ended when the Violet Star appeared.

Nobody knows how it appeared but one night 100 years ago a great light of violet appeared in the night sky. From there it brought with it an unspeakable horror to this world. The dead and decaying arose from their tombs and graves disfigured and hungry. New forms of black magic became available to practitioners. And admit the unending hordes the nations and civilizations of the world before were laid to ruin with many of their secrets lost and forgotten.

Now after 100 years of darkness a small glimmer appears in many parts of the world. Some cities are beginning to reform and small amounts of of the old world are being rediscovered. But a long road is still ahead and many challenges still face the races and people of the world brought by the Violet Star.
