(Emma grabbed Jessica, right?)
Jessica immediately realized that it was probably a bad idea to make a mess with the ice cream that Mrs. Emma had so generously supplied. She was shocked to be slapped across the face, but she worried that she'd be slapped over more than just that. The other two girls stopped in their tracks as soon as they saw Jessica get caught and slapped.
"Umm, I'm sorry!" Jessica whined. "I just thought it would be funny, but we were gonna go to bed soon!"
Laura added, "I was only running around because she put ice cream in the back of my PJs!" Laura really hadn't been all that upset about it until just now, and she had just been laughing and running as well, but she still got a dirty look from Jessica for ratting her out.
Lizzy really didn't have a reason she was running. She just enjoyed running and playing with her friends, so she stayed quiet and hoped to be overlooked.
