Lois offered Clark a seat across from her desk and got him a cup of water from the cooler in the corner of her office. In truth, wasn't the least bit surprised to hear that. However, she was surprised to hear Clark speaking like this was something he'd just discovered. She'd known since meeting Kara just how headstrong (and sometimes distractable) she could be, and her cousin knew it even better than her--after all, when push came to shove, Kara did listen to Lois. Most people did.
"Well, I hate to say it, but I guessed it was only a matter of time," Lois admitted. "She loves and respects you, Clark, but... you two do sometimes butt heads about what's best for her. She's an adult now and she wants to make her own decisions without someone else's input. And technically, you are younger than her. It's probably never been entirely comfortable for her to take orders from someone she remembers as her baby cousin."
