Miles away, in an unassuming residence of Jump City, was an ordinary man. He worked an ordinary comic book shop part time, and had the perfectly ordinary ambitions of animating for a career one day. Apart from climpsing the local heroes in the sky every so often, nothing much exciting happened to him.
Nathan slung his bag on the hook by the front door. One hand held his cup of real-world coffee, the other racking through his black hair. He lake-blue eyes, shadowed by visible bags under them. He had the unshaved face of a man working too late, which combined with his unkempt hair gave him a bit of a raggedy look. Not unattractive, but nothing you’d look twice at, and for a quiet kinda guy that was okay with him. All that attention meant a lot of effort, and emotion, and likely heart break in the all. Human beings in general were someone exhausting…
if that sounded like a lonely life to live, you weren’t wrong either. In a word though, nathan was content with that.
He made his way back up to his sanctulm, a simple one bedroom with a queen bed, a computer desk, and an overly LEDed gaming computer that cost more than anything else in the room. Now adays he used the machine more to jerk off than play anything, but he still enjoyed the option. He was in the middle of debating on which of these two he’d be spending his evening joining when it happened.
The floor opened up underneath him, and with a yelp he fell downwards. Hot wind whipped past his ears, and though he screamed no sound came out. It was a nightmare, but just as soon as it started it ended. Nathan found himself tumbling to his feet, skidding to keep balance before he blew right into a stranger.
“Woah! Hey! Duck!” It was the first thing that came to mind, but he ended up grabbing her by the shoulders to keep from barreling her over. Then he blinked. He recognized her… those smooth, round, features, and violet eyes as piercing as daggers. His hands retracted like he received an electric shock. It was her! A titan, a super hero! Not just any super hero, no no no, out of all of the heroes to run in it just had to be *her*.
“R-Raven… y-yeah I know who you are.” A stream of images and web searches ran by his brain, and his cheeks began to flare. “I… I’m sorry I’m a bit turned around, I-I didin’t mean to interupt.” nathan was a good foot taller than Raven, but still stammared like she was a ten foot body builder threatening him.
