I strangely found this applies to writing too. I initially tried giving other characters (not just the PC) the ability to change genders, and I found it really hard to write them. Can't speak for other writers, but for me gender has an impact on the personality of a character that I'm writing. Leaving that changeable made my characters more undefined, and the less defined a character is, the harder time I have writing them.

This. Pretty much all of us are creating spanking games because we got an itch, and none of the games already out there are scratching that itch.
