Default The Angel and the Reckless (For ZeldaFan64 and FannyThePaddle)

It was another nice day in the area of Shinrinseiki as people are enjoiying themselves, guild members completing quests as usual, and the sun was shining bright. In the forest outside of the city, a young guild member, Noel Tekashi, is currently doing some training in the woods as her surrogate mother, Rose, told her to do so for a couple of hours. She's been practicing her swings and movements with her naginata while protecting herself from beings that attack her, such as goblins.

"Phew.. Time to take a nice quick break." Noel said to herself as she leaned onto the bark of a nearby tree and looked up at the sky. "I wonder how that Rhei kid is doing... I hope he's keeping the promise he made to me..."

Rhei was in the forest of Shinrinseki, running across the grass. Since he was appointed as one of the members of the guild, he wanted to train hard to get all the way to the top! There was no stopping him as he was already dashing from one tree to another. Rank F his ass... he'd show everyone that he can make it to the top of the ladder as quick as he could!

So the teen jumped on a log, catapulting himself in the air and landing on the ground without any pain. The feeling felt somewhat exhilating so he wanted to do it again. He looked up to see a branch that if he jumped high enough he could grab ahold of it and swing across! Rhei gave a grin and ran forward only to turn left and into a circle, heart pounding at every breath.

So then he took another attempt to jumping, placing one foot against the wooden base and flying into the air. The wind blew through his spiky locks as one hand outstretched to grab the branch...

only to miss by a metre... and find himself falling straight towards the ground...

The crash shook a good portion of the forest as birds started flying out from the trees and into the sky, Noel was shaken a bit but she continued to remain calm. "That doesn't sound good..." She held her Naginata tightly as she began to go to the direction of the crash. Soon enough, Noel found a familiar person she was acquainted with. "Rhei?" She said as she sheathed her naginata. Without hesitation, she quickly approached the boy and got on one of her knees while helping him lean with her hands. "Are you okay? What happened to you?"

The spiky-haired teen landed straight on his front flat-faced. While no bones were broken, there were a few scrapes here and there. Poor little Rhei suffered quite a few marks on his torso and face, but weren't anything that serious.

Rhei felt a pair of gentle hands against his shoulders where he looked up to see... Noel. A cute little blush formed onto his cheeks as he looked straight into her eyes, not expecting her to see him in SUCH a state.

"Noel..., I'm fine... just fell in my training..."

"Are you sure? You might have a concussion. Are you feeling sick or dizzy or anything strange?" Noel bombared Rhei with questions, checking off her mental list to decide on what she should do with Rhei next. "You also have some cuts and bruises all over your face and possibly on your other parts of your body..."

It was true.

Rhei had a tiny bruise on his forehead and had a few droplets of blood leaking from his nostril. On his elbow was a small cut but can be fixed. Overall, Rhei was fine for the most part but was still a little injured.

"Noel, I'm fine... okay? No bruise, no biggie..." oh how contradicting that was...

Noel responded with a sigh and helped Rhei up on his feet while putting his right arm around her neck and holding him steady. She figured out that Rhei is just trying to act tough while ignoring the pain she's feeling. "No you're not. Don't try to act tough when you're clearly in pain. We're going back to my house to .get you patched up. You need it Rhei."

"I think you're right..." he said, wincing at the pain in his ankle. He was limping already but it was only a small sprain. That fall plus the running in the beginning did quite a small number on him...

"Lead the way, Noel..." he said, pointing forwards.

The two started moving out of the forest and back into the city as they headed for the Tekashi household. When they arrived, Noel opened the door quickly. "Mom! We have an issue here! Could you please come over here!?" Noel yelled out as she set Rhei down on their living room couch.

As The woman reached the door to see what happened she didn't take long to recognize the unmistakable figure of Rhei, that boy did something again she was aware of it but what ? -
